Can't afford Child Support Payments and Uni Fees

I think she means maintainance LOAN and tuition fee LOAN, not grants.

Advice please.
My son is in Sixth Form about to apply for uni. His father, we were never married but have parental responsibility agreement, has just inherited a substantial amount of money. He refuses to put any of this towards helping/funding son at university. He says son can take out a student loan. What can I do ?

Nothing much. As harsh as this sounds he doesnt have to support his son at uni - thats what loans and grants are in place for, athough, it is nice to get the odd £20 or so off parents. I can only think of 1 person i went to uni with whos parents funded his degree. Everyone else took loans and pt work. Uni is about more than an education, its about growing up and supporting yourself....

AFAIK if he lives with you his fathers income wont be used when assessing him...it will be your household income.... i am sure i shall be corrected if thats not the case.
