clear plastic bag for security at airport

Ive bought the bags from Waitrose before, think you got about 50 in a pack.
The reason for the bag is to stop people bringing too much stuff - i.e if they just said everything had to be under 100ml, there would be nothing to stop someone bringing 1000 little bottles in a suitcase.
I think you will find that the regulation is nothing over 100ml up to a maximum total of 1L.0 -
Anyone tried to take this through - 17cm x 20cm x 6.5 cm 2210cm3 so the right dimensions, but more than 1litre (1000cm3). Does the 1 litre apply to the bag or to the contents?

The last time I flew, it was with hand luggage only. What would you suggest in this instance?
Don't take liquids, unless you need them for medical reasons. I never do when I'm on my own, if there's anything I need that's not in my destination hotel's bathroom I buy it in a shop.
My missus does not adopt the same philosophy though and takes all the toiletries she can cram into the silly bag.Je suis Charlie.0 -
the link seems to have been removed from ebay...
to be honest though, if you are taking through liquids such as deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash etc can you not wait until you are through security and buy from boots?! there doesnt seem to be any restrictions on these as they have their own screening process.
ETA: you can even pre-order your stuff from boots online for collection!0 -

Traveled from gatwick to Orlando recently with my Daughter and her infant son, she had the usual baby changing bag, and was asked to taste the milk which she did no problem.
On holiday the baby got sick and was given a number of medicins by a local doctor, so she had three bottles of liquid in her bag, she genuinly forgot to show these at security, and her bag sailed through the xray machine.
This has happened to be as well when I had a full makeup bag that was not detected!0 -
Hi there.
What's the latest on these bags that you need for security. Are they supplied free or do you have to pay.
Anyone know if they can be bought in supermarkets etc cheaper (if u have to pay at airport that is)
TIA:)0
