I travelled through Stansted last weekend and I overhead on the next security desk that they will be charging for bags soon. As I overheard this I dont know the date this is intended but the security person said this was due to the x amount of pounds this is costing per annum in supplying them free of charge.
I assume this will be all BAA airports.

There is a machine at Liverpool airport by security that sells and dispenses them. Can't remember how much, but you have to buy them 2 at a time, not singly

They serve no useful purpose anyway, they are just another ill thought out hurdle for us all to endure.

They don't use them in Alicante Spain, and we all happily get on the aircraft there.

While we are suffering this farce, we learn that aircraft are landing at UK airports with live bombs on board.

    It beggars belief.

Yep, Newcastle give them away for free -- after the farce of forcing people to go all the way back to the check-in desks to wait in line at WHSmith to buy them!

Manchester I had to spend £2 in a vending machine to get a plastic ball thing with some bags in, rip off! -- Sticks in my throat that they attempt to make money out of security issues..

I use the re-sealable food/freezer bags size 180mm X 200mm, been using the Costco ones for years, but the Ziplock or similar are ideal, these are about the same size as they used to hand out.
