Free Items Worth £5 from PCWorld/Currys...

I was at Currys/PC World in Durham this afternoon and there were no brochures on show. I had to ask for one and the assistant said they had been told to put them behind the counter as people were abusing the offer and taking handfulls of them.
I have just registered and the site now tells you that your 'prize' of a £5 voucher will be emailed to you by Nov 27th. There is no instant download. The only way to get extra vouchers is to have multiple genuine email addresses.0 -
To those who got instant download, or if anyone has been emailed the link, is there a pattern to the link/page...?
Let me explain myself.. Say your voucher was ABCD1234 and your email address was ExTesco@MSE.com then you could get sent a link looking something like...
www . 15million . co . uk/voucher.php?email=ExTesco%34MSE.co.uk&voucher=ABCD1234
but sometimes it is more like...
www . 15million . co . uk/voucher.php?v=3jx73m485m6em292mr86nt
which clearly does not help.
IF it is more like the first, then we may be able to get our voucher earlier by substituting our details in the link.
If you do post a link, change your details. Remember @ sometimes will not be used in a web address, like spaces or other special punctuation and are replaced by a %zz where zz is a number. Space is %20, @ is %40I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

Hi, I gave a gift guide to my dad and he instantly got the voucher, however when I tried to do mine it said I would be emailed a link. I still havent got it. Im beginning to wonder if we will get these emails. If we dont I am going to complain as it is misleading.0

crikey, since last week this looks as though it's got really complicated! I printed off 2 vouchers last week (one for me, using my genuine name, email & postal address) and another one for my sister, again using genuine details. I'm planning on going in to Curry's tomorrow to redeem one of my vouchers. If they give me any grief, I'll simply refer them to the T&C's on the voucher. AND the bit in large letters that says 'Congratulations on WINNING a £5 voucher'!
I'll tell them that I entered their competition in good faith and won a prize, and for the privilege, I've had to sign up to their marketing list so that they can spam me with offers.
If they try to pull anything, including demanding a minimum spend or whatever, I'll tell them that not only will I unsubscribe from their marketing list, I'll also report them to the advertising standards people.
wish me luck :-)0 -

Lol. Good on you. They are probably just panicing at the sheer demand.0 -
well, it's bl**dy irritating!! I don't see why people should get hassled in public in their shops, because their marketing muppets couldn't figure out how to run a 'giveaway' scheme without putting some basic security checks in to the process. And I bet the muppets in the suits at head office get paid a lot more than most of us on this forum!0
