Free Items Worth £5 from PCWorld/Currys...

This is the drawback of MSE site
So many people started claiming free items that they probably thought it is better to stop this promo rather than losing further money.
This was included in the MSE weekly email going to around 4 million people. If any 3rd party offer is included without someone at MSE HQ contacting them first it's clearly marked, which this offer was not. So it looks like the case is Currys were hoping for lots of big purchases with everyone getting £5 off even with millions of people being told about it by email, rather than people finding things for under £10.
I saw this offer before it went in the MSE email and was hoping to pick one up next week but whether I'm able to now is another question.0 -
Currys didn't have any on show but PC world had a little pile by the customer services desk. Probably around 30 or so. I picked up 2 and wasn't challenged.
However, I've not yet had the email as yet. I used my name and my daughters,, separate addresses and email accounts. How long does the email take to arrive normally?0 -
I think Currys have been incredibly niave over this whole matter. I don't blame MSE one bit. Rapid communication of information like this is just how things are these days, and it''s up to the companies to keep up.
They have pledged to give away £15 million, and now seem to be in a state of panic. Well that's just an indication of how poorly planned and managed this whole fiasco has been.
Currys were hoping to scoop up by enticing people into the store for £5 off a £400 TV, and is seeming to backfire on them.
Why shouldn't people take full advantage of such a badly thought out scheme. When I visited Currys on Thursday there were palettes of brochures outside the store- thousands of copies- encouraging people to take as many as possible.
We all love a bargain or a discount, but this whole thing is laughable.0 -
Two phrases apply here... "first come, first served" and "you snooze, you lose"...
Should I pass up the chance of a second or third voucher just in case someone else might not have one..... how long should I wait.... what if I leave a brochure and a millionaire comes behind me and grabs it, I need it more than him....
Two or three are no problem. But people talking of a hundred, that's another story.0 -
Only behind the counter in my store so me and OH could only get one each anyway. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!0

So when will I be receiving your cheque to pay my gas bill?0 -
went "shopping" with bf today, we spent 4 vouchers(camera case, mouse, hairdryer, sandwich toaster) and got 2 guides, at pcw the sa gave me one after spending my vocher saying very friendly that I won't be able to enter again if I had already and I said "right, will give it to a friend then"
I used 10 vouchers so far in two stores and some of them surely do recognize me but luckily they don't care
I have enter one code yesterday and still waiting for their email but I don't think they are in hurry... well, if I won't get any more I am still happy with what I have so far... got two huggies starter packs from asda as well today so a very good day for free for me

My Mother & I used a voucher each in the Darington store today. No problem and the lady was quite happy for the guy she was training to get some experience, she even asked halfway though if we had got them from the gift catalogue, when we said yes she just smiled a knowing smile.
Bought a stick blender for part of my Brother's birthday present box and a travel hairdryer which will be going into a charity raffle at an event we're attending in a couple of weeks.
The catalogues had gone from beside the door and were hidden under the tills, if you walked past an unattended one you could have grabbed a few but we have one more code to use which is for a jug blender which we will be adding cash to so they will win on that one!0 -
Done really well out of this deal.
Have spare gift brochures, which have codes that haven't been used.
