debs did not withdraw the promotions and I don't think that this one is going to teach anyone a lesson... next glitch/promotion/freebie will be used as much as possible just like any other one in the past...
and I totally don't mind that! I love free stuff and if there is a way for me to save 50GBP instead of 5 I will! I would not use 50 or 100 of vouchers just for the sake of it but if there is anything I need I will get it for free if I can...
and if the companies don't want to give 3 millions vouchers away why did they start the promotion? I think they look quite silly now :D

Yeah - but if they advertised the offer as a 15 Million Pound Giveaway - surely they should have realised they would have to Give Away 15 Million Pounds worth of stuff?

Exactly. I mean, I understand if companies didn't think their promotion would be that popular, but they should have thought of that before they advertised it.
  • Very much agree leathersofa - this £5 voucher would have made a massive difference to my christmas. Unfortunately some people have to work every hour god sends and my currys have stopped giving them out now. I really can't believe some people going on about how many they've managed to get, so selfish ruining it for everyone else!

"That isn't going to happen. When I'm using my £5 voucher to get something I don't particularly need, am I going to be thinking of poor Lisa down the way who is having a really hard time at the moment? Nope!!"

Precisely. Do you think this is something to be proud of? And it might just as easily be your mum or dad or grandpa who thought they could now afford something a bit nicer for your Christmas present, if we really have to descend to the level of appealing only to self-interest.

As to the 'they won't miss it, they should have thought of that' arguments - do people on here think that insurance fraud, for instance, is OK? Because it seems to fit that profile too. But it's a criminal offence. And what about this sort of thing -

OK with you? Because it's not OK with me and fancy that, it wasn't OK with the police either.

What, that I'm not bothered about some random who lives down the street? Why would I be? I couldn't care less if Joe Bloggs doesn't have a kettle. If I have spare batteries for my torches, then whoooop for me!

    the attitude of many :(

couldnt care less about anybody but themselves
  • Well, when Margaret Thatcher said there was no such thing as society, she wasn't far wrong then - and as for the Big Society and people caring for each other, good luck with that, Dave.

Let me put it very simply, because I obviously need to:

if YOU don't care what happens to other people ('randoms'), then why should they care about what happens to you? Why should anyone do anything that isn't purely selfish?

Does this really need to be said?
