  • My local store have also removed the gift guides. They were nowhere to be seen. I was served by the store manager who also did not appear to be very pleased when I produced the voucher. After he saw the voucher, he just became silent for the rest of the transaction :S

Has anyone had their voucher emailed through? I've reserved an item to collect tomorrow but the voucher still hasn't been emailed to me. I've tried logging in again but still nothing! :(

  • Judging by the comments on here and hukd,it's quite laughable how the shop assistants are ok until you produce a voucher... Its not as if it's coming out Of their pocket! Get over yourselves stony faced sa's.
I'm sure this site makes me spend more than I save

Currys in Derby had none in, typical when there's a t,v I want to order for ds's Christmas box. Are the codes still working? If so does anyone have one they could spare? x

This is the drawback of MSE site :) So many people started claiming free items that they probably thought it is better to stop this promo rather than losing further money.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Managers are probably being monitored on how many are being used at their branch. They may therefore have decided to throw a wobbly at their SAs.
  • At the end of the day, it's no ones God given right to be able to use these vouchers. To be fair, I can see why they're trying to scale back use.

Yeah - but if they advertised the offer as a 15 Million Pound Giveaway - surely they should have realised they would have to Give Away 15 Million Pounds worth of stuff?
  • I am very glad to see Currys/PC World have pulled the guides, because perhaps THIS time the people who have caused this by abusing the scheme will get it that they have deprived other people, whose need may well be very much greater than theirs and who wouldn't consider defrauding the stores, of a modest bonus (£5) through their blatant and unashamed greed and fraud. This is exactly what happened with Tesco and coupons - people printing off handfuls of high-value coupons and sneaking them through the self-service tills meant that people like me who were saving £2-3 a week using coupons legitimately downloaded and/or cut from magazines lost that very modest benefit.

It's all very well to say 'they're a big organisation, they're in it to make a profit, they should have thought of that when they designed the promotion, they won't miss £150' and all the rest of it. All that is true. But the bottom line is that the more this happens, the fewer of these promotions there will be, because stores just won't want the hassle. Same thing, on a smaller scale, with the Debenhams £5 recently. The number of people who can't see past the ends of their own selfish noses and who grab, grab, grab without any consideration of how that's going to deprive others when the stores withdraw the promotions, never ceases to astonish me. There is thrift and then there's greed. I know which side I'm on.

That isn't going to happen. When I'm using my £5 voucher to get something I don't particularly need, am I going to be thinking of poor Lisa down the way who is having a really hard time at the moment? Nope!!

I'm just annoyed that people are bragging about what they have done, they are the ruining it for everyone else.
