Definitely the case in Stockport today. There were pallet loads in the entrance of Currys till yeserday but not today. There were small piles of about 20 on the cash till in PCW. I suspect the SAs are only giving them out to people who haven't used a gift voucher for their purchase.

Well I "spent" my £5 today. I got a stack of Verbatim CDs (25 pack). They were originally priced at an eyeball popping £9.99 but had been reduced to £4.99. Excellent freebie. Just for price comparison purposes, a quick search in google shopping shows they can be ordered online for £3.00 (including p&p) from a different supplier.

Yes, I also noticed the absence of the gift guides pallet. I then overheard a congregation of SAs discussing the gift guide problem. Apparently, they'd tried putting the gift guides in storage and had just made a small pile available at the till. One SA was complaining that he'd had one customer who "swiped" a handful while he turned his back for a second to get a carrier bag.

I couldn't help thinking that, the way he described it, he almost made it sound like shoplifting.

It's amazing what lengths people are prepared to go to get their hands on PCW/Currys gift guides. Never knew they would be so popular

Got a Sandisk Cruzer Blade 2GB memory stick this evening for 99p after the £5 coupon.

Saw the shelf was empty of them so thought MSE'ers had cleared them out so got some £5.99 speakers ready to buy for 99p and then saw the memory sticks by the till so got those.

Yesterday in town I saw about 5 gift guides dumped in Sports Direct, back pages all ripped off.

This morning there were hundreds and hundreds of brochures in my local store which have been there right from the start of this promo. Just returned, 6pm, and all have been removed.

Strangely I could smell bonfire smoke outside..... :think:

You have to be quick with this kind of promo, there was a fault in the way they set up the system. It only went on email none of the other info was really needed I was typing any old S**T , saying that the email address wasn't really relevant cause I was making them up as well.
