When do you put your Christmas decorations up?

Well the family next door but one have spent today putting theirs up and now the street is flashing like the Blackpool Tower in the illuminations:(

I am not a scrooge or a killjoy but there is still seven weeks to go for god's sake - I haven't even heard christmas music yet! Please someone bring in a law that bans people from putting them up until December 1st -ish!!!;)

It just spoils it for me to have them up too early, if they want to have them up in the house then fine but how on earth are they benefiting from having the outside decorated as they never leave the house anyway to see the damn things - usually get our tree around 10th Dec and take down New Years Day - before they all get dusty!

Mine go up 2nd weekend in Dec, and come down asap after - I love xmas but when its done its done. If I had my way theyd be down boxing day but DH makes me wait till new years eve!

our's will probaly go up the first weekend of dec so 4th or 5th and come down again on the 28th and replaced with birthday banners and balloons for ds's birthday on the 29th!

my birthday is the 16th dec and when i was younger the tree was always put up on this day - my choice i loved it! there was a rule that i could dictate to my bro and sis where all the toys/baubles must go and they had to do it! being the youngest child it was excellent being able to boss my older siblings around for a change!
it was my job to put the fairy on the top and turn on the lights too!

I try to get mine up on (or just before) the 11th December. It's my birthday on the 12th, and it doesn't feel birthday-ish without being festive too.

Mine are going up next weekend i always put them up before the 1st dec cause i dont like having the advent calenders up on their own lol....we always make things all the way through december and continue buying new decs too so they are added too all the time....and i take down 2nd jan as its my daughters birthday on the 3rd so i decorate for that lol

Christmas eve here and down on 12th night...thats quite long enough for me..

Mine goes up 1st December - kids have been nagging for it to go up the last 3 weeks lol!! Everyone in this house also has an advent calender so it makes sense to start from the 1st - well thats my excuse

mine are already up.. i only have a tree this year tho.. my back problems have resulted in me not going anywhere near a ladder
