That's a fab cot. I can't remember if you got the M/S one or IKE'A? My M/S one is being delivered this afternoon :) I think I'm going to get the IKE'A mattress that someone (sorry memories rubbish) posted a link to yesterday.

DS has been up since 5am, it's going to be a long day...

    Hi girls

Just popping over from the less than 12 weeks thread and I was hoping you pregnancy experts may be able to give me some advice.:o

Two things are worrying me at the moment:

    1. I'm really struggling with constipation - I'm only 8 weeks and I look huge!! Are there any remedies I can safely take to help - have tried fruit, veg, lots of water and hot water with lemon slices. Nothing. :(

    2. When I was at uni, I had a rebel stage and had my n ipple pierced - I took it out years ago and it's healed over, but now I'm worrying that I won't be able to b-feed from that one. Anyone had any experiences (long shot, I know!)?

Anyhoo, labour vibes to those in need (particularly flower and giz) and giz, hope your rabbit gets better. Hello to everyone else.

    Hi ddebski :)

I think I remember you from the less than 12 weeks before so hi again if I'm right :) glad to see you back!!

I struggled a bit with feeling bunged up, I was taking the sanatogen pg multivitamin and the midwife recommended I just take foilic acid as the iron in the multi vitamin wouldn't be helping.
I also started having 2tsp ground linseeds / flacseeds in natural yogurt every day - that also helped me, I still have it now every few days tho.

At the time it got so bad that I went to the docs and he prescribed something, I think it was lactulose, and it got everything working again in a couple of days. I'd forgotten but I was actually on this for quite a while - sometimes it would go away then come back. I think it was after this I tried the linseeds and stopping the multi vit, and I'm fairly sure once I did this it settled down on its own.

    morning all...

Giz - try not to worry about size of bubs, I can't remember last time my mw measured my bump  i'm sure the consultant will put your mind at rest, hope rabbit is happier this morning...

EA - Cup cakes look fab.....

Teenie - Hope you're feeling better today...

Honey - Glad you had a chat with MW, hope you're feeling better soon..

Flower - Hope everything is going ok?

Chakani & Giz - Labour vibes coming your way.....

My bad day went from bad to worse  got a bath and did my hair and face which made me feel much better to take DS swimming. Dad picked us up and dropped us off. After swimming DS has a trip to fish shop, so walked over and got him his tea and waited outside for Dad to pick us up at 5.00pm..... It was freezing..... 5.25pm and no dad, so we had to walk home (i'd forgotten my phone and only had enough cash on me for fish shop!) it took forever to walk to the mile home, up a big hill..... DS was lovely (made a lovely comment that a tortoise could walk faster!) I got in and i was so tired and ached everywhere.......

Dad came up about 6.30pm really apologetic, saying that he had completely forgotten about us, so now i'm a bit worried about dad's memory.... No point in having a go at him, he was really upset.....

But.... That walk hasn't made bubs shift either  bit of cramping this morning, but thats it..... 6 days to go though yet...

Right, doing nothing today, really tired, off to find the birth stories :T Hope you all have good days.....

    Hi ema_o - yes, it is me!!:D

Thanks for this - I am taking pregnacare as I want to make sure that I get everything I need for baby. I have heard iron makes things worse though, so maybe I should go back to just folic acid and vitamin d.

I'm seeing my m/w on Monday so perhaps I'll mention it to her and pick up some flaxseed from the health food shop.

    Many thanks for this.

I second lactulose, you can buy it over the counter as well - I did this after getting bunged up on iron tablets after having DS, desperate for something to help and couldn't get in to see a doctor for days so got it over the counter at the pharmacy.

Good news for me - I think! - Counsellor just called and I have an appointment for tomorrow midday. Just got to find someone to have DS, as me and DH have no family nearby apart from my brother and he goes on hols tonight, typical. All my mummy friends will be working, so best get ringing round everyone I know and ask, without having to explain exactly where I'm going and why I can't take him with me (everyone knows I usually take him to the antenatal appointments).

Giz, i used a giant star nozzle to do the icing. Its buttercream coloured with ice blue food colour paste.

Deb, i had both my nipples pierced! :) I took them out in April 09, and i breastfed Lily in March 10 ok. (well it wasn't ok as i stopped after 2wks but it was nothing to do with the nipple piercings, the milk came out of the main front section and not the sides like i thought it would lol :D)
