  • Aww that is so sweet Hngrymummy, I feel exactly the same this board is an amazing support network. And when you come back for your next baby it will feel like you never left lol.

Right... thanks to EA I now have to go bake cakes!!:rotfl: That and I realised that my eggs are going out of date tomorrow lol.

  • Hiya Lady Bumps :)

    Am back!!! I haven't been kidnapped!!!! :j:rotfl:

The girl was lovely although about half an hour late but I didn't really care as I was getting a few bits and bobs for Saturday........am getting all excited about my baby shower now hehe

Welcome to the thread Feisty_Fairy and don't believe everything you are told.....we're not all nutters and freaks, some of us are mild mannered and soft spoken and you wouldn't hear a moan from us :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hngrymummy glad to see you are still with us :) hope you are enjoying vegging out and am sending big hugs your way....I have a feeling after the amount of walking about I have done today that I will not be moving from the sofa tonight or tomorrow and hubby will have to feed me and water me (1,2,3 awwwwwww :rotfl:)

In the matter of the will....me and hubby haven't got one but have discussed briefly that my BF would be the one named to have the alien if anything happened to us both.....if anything happens to him I am set for life due to his insurance but as of yet I don't have anything in place and will look into that once he comes along

I went to mothercare the other night and used one of my vouchers for there and got money off the terry's starter kit http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Terry-Nappy-Starter-Set/dp/B001BYKNSI/sr=1-13/qid=1296663993/ref=sr_1_13/278-1866363-8683259?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44532031&mcb=core and we have quite a few disposables as well for the first few days until the manky poop is gone (the black stuff IYKWIM, lol)

EA class bump and lovely cakes....can you make me some for Saturday pleaseeeeee lol

ok that's about all I can remember from you chatty bunch today lol

  • I am tempted towards cloth nappies just for the environmental aspect but at the same time the amount of preparation in advance, and the extra washing is a bit off putting for me - I know it's naughty but can't help it :o

I've seen degradable disposables, so you could always go for those. A bit more expensive though.

First poos - I was advised to 'oil' the baby's bum before the first poo so that it comes off a bit easier.

alamaya - everyone is different regarding movements. I get lots of kicks and punches every day, but sproglet is lying back to back, so all the kicks are on my tummy, and as I'm quite thin anyway I feel them quite a lot. Always best to speak to your MW if you're at all concerned though.

    Hello and Welcome FeistyFairy

EA - where do you live? I'll be over right now for one :D
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:

That's sweet hngrymummy :) I was also apprehensive about joining this thread after the 'safety' of the less than 12 weeks one, but I soon felt at home here :) I think everyone is lovely, and even though a lot of my posts are moany, self-indulgent ones, I am never made to feel guilty about it, and it helps to get it off my chest :D

Thanks Dusty, have been looking on Amazon now. Have seen this one I like, and it's got all good reviews. Plus in my price range and I don't need to drive all the way to Ikea. Tempting. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cot-Mattress-Interior-SHIPPING-MAINLAND/dp/B000UFAAI2/ref=pd_cp_by_2

Glad you had a nice time RBG, it's often the case when you force yourself out of a 'can't be bothered' mood, and end up enjoying yourself :) I do that a lot myself :rotfl:

All this talk about Wills is scary - argh!!! My mum had me late, so she's 70 this year and not in the best of health, my dad died when I was 17, so they aren't possibilities. OH's parents maybe, but would feel it unfair? Possibly OH's sister. Think if anything happened to her boy he would come to us as OH is his Godfather. Horrible to think about it! But yes, something we need to talk about.

I agree about this thread being a lifeline and support network. I have lost count of the times I have been reassured about baby's lack of movement on here and all the answers I have had to my stupid questions!

Hehe, the cakes are for DH. Its his birthday tomorrow, today is our last day of both being 22.

He has just come home with a copy of Fable 3 for me because i said i wanted to play it again, and he feels bad that no one got me anything for my birthday :):)

Hehe, Lily is leaning on my bump to watch Waybuloo. I remember when i was pregnant with her, i was ready to punch anyone that put any weight on my bump. But now Lily climbs all over me and i know its ok :rotfl:

Right ladies since you are all in the mood I need some cheering up, I could sit here and quite happily cry away :o

I have been fine all day but have been standing too long making tea (fish pie, seriously I don't know why I bother as I end up using every pot available and it seems to take forever to do, I'm sure it's just me though!) and now my thighs are burning my hips are protesting and my back is niggling. I am also very tired and starting to get crabbit (grouchy for the non Scots LOL) and to top it all I forgot the water was being turned off today for some sort of maintenance work so haven't even been able to do the dishes arggghhhh!

On a happier note, I did venture down to Tesco (got soaked in the process) to get some cheap bottled water for cooking my spuds and my hand slipped into the freezer and grabbed a carton of Creme Egg ice cream, that should cheer me up :D
"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."

Those cupcakes look yummy ea!!! I am awaiting oh's brother to finish with fable 3 so I may borrow/steal it from him :P if you are on xbox you should most definately add me :) ill pm you if you say you are

Well ladies most embarrassing day ever today
As you all know I am not feeling great so at about 1 ds went for his nap and I fell asleep on the sofa - did nothing for my back let me tell you.
Havent been able to tidy anything, load dishwasher or washing machine because back so sore and I emptied the under stairs cupboard to get the birth pool out but I couldnt get everything back in....

So of course at 3pm when ds wakes up I just get him down the stairs open the curtain and theres someone at my door ......que panic - he has seen me so cant pretend i am in, i have no make up on and bed/sofa hair, no bra on and a dress on that is not covering much boobage. wrap my dressing gown round me and whack slippers on and go to door.

It is environmental health guy (now ill cut a long story short we complained about next door because the front of his house is hanging off literally and pulling ours with it, then we had rats from his house and foxes) anywho hes picked this moment to come round then he wants to come through to take pics of the back of said neighbours house - I was like ok but please excuse the mess....i wanted to die my house looks like a bloody environmental health risk the garden is full of all the cr4p that oh tore out of the bathroom and our kitchen has no walls, cupboards etc .
    talk about sods law eh.

so now i have ordered dominos pizza - with waffles oh yes to try and eat the shame away lol/

sorry for the long story just thought id share my embarrasment lol
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Well, that's me at the maternity with a pessary in place. It has started to do something. I'm having proper backache and interesting cramping/ period pain.
The thing stays in for 24 hours unless I go into labour or have something go wrong with me. Then they assess if the cervix is in a good enough shape (3 to 4 cm) dilated to go into delivery suite where they put me on an hormone drip.
I just hope I manage to get some sleep tonight as I could be here for a long time!
All the staff I met today are really nice and friendly. Still a bit anxious but feeling well looked after.
Like they say, every little step or contraction is taking me closer to my wee baby!
