I think the population of this forum is probably unrepresentative of the general population though.
In terms of drying, unless you have a dryer terry squares are the only practical option. The only time we found drying a problem was when we had lots of rainy days in the summer because without the central heating on things just didn't dry quickly enough to keep up but we had disposables available as a back up option so used them when we were behind. (Although actually that only happened in the early days when we were also using more nappies than average because of doing elimination communication.)
In terms of extra washing, I think it's down to personal preference - I'd rather have a bit of extra washing than keep having to shop for nappies and empty the bin all the time so for me it was less work.
Is that the technique where you try and potty train baby or have I got completely confuddled?
If so was it a success?0 -

This is what I am waiting for! They are having trouble getting to my house :rotfl:
It says on the website they will assemble it for you, which I am going to ask them to do as it said on my letter that you need to check it is OK before signing for the delivery!
I hope it is height adjustable as otherwise it will be going back. We're both tall so think it will be trouble otherwise.
When I ordered the cot I stupidly didn't order the mattress, but it went out of stock and they aren't getting anymore. How do I know what size mattress to get? Do I have to get the exact same length and width measurements of the cot? Anyone else in the same boat?
The cot, if they will assemble it, is going up in our front room as that's the only space for it, and then it's cramped :rotfl: We will take it down again tonight. No baby room in this house as we want to move.
Oh they are here! Back later to update x0 -

Hello Azariaz
I'm not too far behind you - sorry to hear about the sure start grant (I'm not sure what that is) and the situ with your mum x0 -
Oh yes I do realise that, I am just aware and pleasantly surprised at the amount of peple on this forum who are going to give it a go
I am not sure whether the general population of this forum represents the general mummy population or not! - I am so out of the new mummy link nowall my friends have had their babies long ago.

I was sure I would be early and I was. Which I was very pleased about as everyone told me I would be late because "first babies are always late". OH and I were both first babies who were early though which is why I thought I would be early.
Two things i'm absolutely convinced about in this pregnancy - i'll be early and bubs is a boy!
No idea why, just had this intuition since I was about 15 weeks.
I was a first/only child for my parents and was 4 days early. OH is the youngest of 4 and I've no idea if he arrived on time *off to text MIL*- we were both around the 7lb mark though which pleases me no end0 -

The mattress size is 120x60 cms. I'm getting my mattress from Ikea, not much different in price to the one M&S had but better quality. They have a good range of them. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

Hi Digital
If I remember correctly the cot takes a standard size cot mattress - check out Mothercare website as there is a mattress measuring guide.
There are a few suitable mattresses to buy on Mothercare site which is where I'll be getting mine from prob if the cot is ok :cool:0 -
