I have 2 pack of maternity pads on the list (and in my bag). Will that not be enough? I have some night time pads at home and can get OH to bring them in if I need.

Are maternity pads similar to night time one's in absorbency?

I don't think I've ever come across them..are they found in the same isle as sanitary towels in the supermarket?

They are much much more absorbent and not slim or descreet. Proper cotton wool-bulk jobs :o

You will find them with the baby things near breast pads etc.

The tesco value sanitary pads are very much like maternity ones, I used those after my twins were born.

I have heard a few people on this thread (many months ago) say that Tesco Value sanitary towels are similar to maternity pads, but cheaper. In the Sainsbury's half price baby toiletries sale the maternity pads are cheap though. Night time pads are more absorbant and longer than standard pads, but someone else here was told by a MW that the main difference between maternity pads and night time pads are that maternity pads don't contain any scent, gel, etc. that could irritate broken skin (i.e. if you need stitches).

I was planning on using maternity pads first and the night time pads after a while when the bleeding eases.

Sorry posted at the same time as you Delain!

I'll be the same. I've been addicted to this thread for the last 30 weeks and don't think I can dedicate the same time in the future, so don't want to get addicted to the parent thread too. I might just lurk here for a few weeks after the baby arrives.

How's your little one doing Delain?

She is almost 3 months! How fast did that go!?

Sleeping through now mostly and generally quite a happy baby :)

I might see if I can post a pic soon.

Hopefully the last few weeks will fly by for you! I remember wth DD1 it dragged and dragged, but what with early twins last time and all the hospital drama this time round it flew by :rotfl:

Are you on team yellow? I get confused :o

Yes, team yellow. We both want a surprise. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly for me this week and baby will be here by Thursday at the latest. Luckily DH has 2 weeks paternity leave, then back to work for 2 weeks, then off for 2 weeks for Christmas. So I'll get plenty of support.
  • i HATED maternity pads with a passion with DS1. I used night time sanitry towels from day 1 (luckily i think my blood flow was quite light.... tho lasted a good 3 weeks) - sorry if TMI or a shoc.k to anyone but yes it will happen despite everyone skating past that fact.

i remember being stitched and then desperate for a wee and was given a hospital issued pad to put between my legs and holding it on with 2 hands while i went to the en-suite...... deer god that was the most embarrasing walk i have ever ever had!!!!
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
