hi twoflower - i was very moved by your latest post - i have been moved by all of them, but this one in particular struck a chord with me , i don't know why
anyway - i think and i think everyone would agree:
no matter what the advice that someone else gives there is nothing stronger than a mother's instinct - if you think it would be better to give your son cuddles and let him sleep in your bed then do so - he is also grieving though he does not realise it in the same way that we as adults do - its more confusing for little ones as they do not understand what is happening around them and people do not know how to explain it to them
you can gradually get him back into the routine of sleeping in his own bed - just go with the flow and don't be too hard on yourself either
put last night behind you and maybe go for a day out, like at the beach or a country park with a picnic, which he can help you to prepare - just something where you spend a bit of time bonding with each other and helping each other in the grieving process
don't forget you still have your best friend in your son and your little bump
good luck - don't beat yourself up over the things that go wrong at the moment - focus on the positives
and always come here to let us know how you are feeling - i thought that was the point of the thread anywaybargain shopping is the only way to shop :j0 -

Morning all
Grateful PM'd me about Twoflower and I just had to post.
I am so sorry to hear that your DH has died but want to say that you will get through it no matter how bleak things must seem just now. Have a read of Stormy's thread, it is long but you might find hope and support there.
Our DD was 6.5 and DS was 3.5 when DH died, DS would sometimes want to sleep with me. I mentioned this to the GP and he said 'let him, what child will want to sleep with a parent when they are a teenager' So I did let him sleep in our bed and even now 4.5 years later he still occasionally sleeps with me. The key thing is doing what is right for you and your children, you all need a safe, secure and loving environment. There are no rights or wrongs on this path so don't feel you have to do what other people tell you.
Wishing you all the best for the future xOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Thank you girls all your post have made me cry, I had a non-disturbed sleep last night it was only a few hours as it took me ages to go to sleep and then ds woke at 6am. I haven't moved off the sofa this morning other than to feed ds, poor child has been babysat by the tv, which I dont normally allow. I have finally sat up, had a coffee and my friend who I told about last night is coming over so that I can shower, get ds washed and dressed, poor child is in a nappy and coco pop stained pj top! And then her and her dh are going to help me get baby stuff out of loft so that I can start packing hospital bag and put some of dh's things in the loft for the moment.
Anyway just wanted to say thanks for your support girls, your all great.
Hope everyone else is ok, sorry I'm wallowing in self pity at the moment and so even though I am reading posts I'm not sure I'm taking it in. xx0 -
I've been looking through previous posts to find the list of items to take into hospital to print off for my daughter but cannot find them would someone mind listing them again....really she should of had it packed by now.0

Congrats tigtag. I'm refusing to read birth stories until after I've had mine though!
More hugs twoflower, and sorry I can't offer more than that.I was speaking to a girl today who got told she was having a girl at her 20 w scan then had a boy! She was devastated as she had her head around having a girl ( she has 2 other boys) plus she had loads of pink stuff.
When sonographer told us that we were team blue OH asked her "are you sure", she explained that "girls don't have one of those" and that most mistakes are made if bubba is shy- meaning they get declared a girl instead of a boy. I have heard of it happening the other way though.OH got a booklet of vouchers yesterday for Tesco (for being staff). £20 worth plus some other bits, including a free photo book. Want to take advantage of the photo book but have no idea what to do it on as I already have ones of the wedding, honeymoon, the DIY on the house, the rabbits...and I'm a scrapbooker so I do my own photo albums anyway. Trying to think if I could do it as a gift, but my mum really isn't into that sort of thing and done them for in-laws before. Would have been better next year then I could have done a baby one! Has to be done by 31st December though.
Ooo, what rabbits do you have? Our rabbits have been our babies for the past four years and we've been explaining to them that they're not going to be number one anymore once bump arrives.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:On_The_Edge wrote: »My week started with DH being unexpectantly made redundant  but in the same day he was offered an interview with another company which he starts a trial with on Monday but he's now going to be self employed - subcontracting so have been researching all of that stuff
Is that in construction? I find the whole subcontracting/self employed/CIS/ltd company thing takes up so much of my time every time OH changes job... it's a hell of a headache.
HIPG came through yesterday :T:T:T. MW had offered to redo all the forms for me next week but opened my bank account yesterday and it was in- I nearly fell over in shock! Maybe someone at HMRC is able to make a 0 turn into a 1!!!
Off to wake up OH so we can go to the snobby gym again and I can be glared at for smuggling in a child to the adult only pool.:D:D

This is what I have packed, but if I've missed anything please let me know. I was lying awake last night and at about 4am thought about adding a baby hairbrush. I haven't got one of those yet.0
