  • Hi,

    Jumping in,

I also had a c-section and wasn't able to even dress DD after her birth, make sure you OH knows how to put on a babygrow and vest, even if it means practicing on a doll.

It took me 10 minutes to get across how it went as I was befuddled on morphine and hampered by a drip in my wrist.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Hi everyone, not sure if i am posting this ok, just introducing myself - had a miscarriage last year, very traumatic, now 22 weeks pregnant due 20/03/11, team yellow as the little blighter wouldn't open it's legs even though hubby & I really wanted know. Just wanted to say how much I have been following the forums- miscarriage, less than 12 weeks pregnant and now this thread, can I just say as a lurker how informative & positive I have found all the info I have been reading for weeks, I am 38 yrs old with my first baby I am also A rhesus negative and had the triple test, all ok. A massive thankyou for the reassurance I have felt reading everyone's stories, being a first timer is daunting but I have learnt so much from you all & have learnt to relax with my symptoms & queries.

Welcome and congrats, I'm also on team yellow and also had a m/c last year, and also 38!!
Well girls, I did get a dress, but it was wasn't a maternity dress! Its was a size 12 in oasis! Very fitting, very unlike me dress with a big jewelly thing on the front! I will get someone to take a pic when I wear it and post it!

Other than that today I feel life is Poo!!!!! I actually mean that stronger but not in me to swear!

Off loading coming up.....I lost the plot with ds tonight, I've been trying to keep consisitent with discipline as recommended by charity thats working with me. But ds just would not settle to sleep and just kept pushing and pushing, I could have just backed down and let him do what him wanted to, but I know I need to keep going, anyway I lost the plot and shouted at him so bad, he sobbed, I sobbed, I think I may have finally given into the crying and let go, but ds was so upset he was sat on my lap sobbing saying please mummy dont cry, so I stopped, I was crying cos I upset him and I was so angry at this is where I find myself on my own, trying to look after him the best way I know how at the moment, whilst trying to grieve my husband. We just sat and cuddled til we both calmed down, he also cuddled my tummy, so sweet, how can I hurt my poor little boy who's world has been turned upside down by his daddy no longer being here and now mummy is being horrid, when all in his little mind all he wanted to do is sleep in my bed! I feel so awful, how do I just keep going and keep normality when I obviuosly cant do it at the moment, I just need to allow my heart to break at losing my best friend and love of my life, but something is stopping me.

I am so sorry girls to pull thread down, but I had to offload somewhere.

    tf x

Honey, you are doing so brilliantly. I hope this helps and doesn't make it worse, but my DH has gone away for one night and I'm a gibbering wreck. I have no comprehension of how hard it must be for you but I know I couldn't cope a millionth as well as you're doing.

Lots of hugs. It's just a thought, but search the thread made by AnW'smum - her husband died suddenly and its the story of her path through it all - I'll try to find a linky for you.

  • <<hugs twoflower>>, I almost cried for you reading that. I know just how easy it is tho to loose it with your DS especially if you are sleep deprived aready. how old is he?? like others I am SURE a few days here and there will not harm his sleeping and more then if he starts having nightmares in his own room and thinking he can't come to mummy with them. Someone shoot me, my DS is 2 and.... OH NO.... he slept in my bed last night cause he's poorly (and mummy didn't have the energy to be up and down stairs all night - me and DH are on the verge of splitting up, combined with this blooomin itching!) Yes when he feels better I MIGHT have a battle for him to stay there for a few days but tough love will have to win thro.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Morning everyone. Still here and 7 days overdue. Looks like I'll be being induced on Wednesday morning, I've to go into hospital on Tuesday night.

I lay awake all night and didn't sleep at all and have to go to my nephew's birthday party today. Totally knackered!
  • Hi all,
sorry have not had time to post - a quick lurk here and there and a look at all the bump pics, birth stories - thanks everyone.

And of course hugs to Twoflower - it's just impossible to imagine what you're going through.

Rach and GFH - I'm also 38, first baby, m/c a year and a half ago, the triple check thing was ok, have to have the negative blood injection thing. My little wriggler was also quite unco-operative at the 20 week scan, but after half and hour he opened his legs to reveal some dangly bits!

I also wondered if any of you ladies might be interested in this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00vy305#synopsis

Found it quite interesting, considering that I'm totally not up for a home birth and very happy to go to hospital!
  • Is it anti home birth spaghetti? If so I won't read/look at it!!

I got maximum 3 hours sleep last night, prob more like 2. Feel terrible.

((Hugs)) Twoflower. You are only human and trying to keep everything "normal" for DS is a hard but comforting way to keep him grounded. You are coping amazingly well and it is so sweet that your DS cuddled your tummy....the pictures in my head of you brought a tea to my eye. Feel free to keep coming on here as you know there is always somebody on here to comfort you and just offload if you need....with the added bonus that you could actually be walking by us in the street and you'd never know.

CL, I think you need to add pads for down there on your list. I hear things happen down there!

Me, I've stopped obsessing and OCDing over a pram and just bought this second hand offa eBay...UPDATE....but just thought I'd look on mamas and papas and have bought it brand new too. It just fell in to my shopping basket....http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-ultima-9-in-1-mpx-chassis-couture-brown/259717201/type-i/

DH was sweet as I'd only just persuaded him to buy the one of eBay as it's got an isofix base which is normally £135 and I got everything except the stand for £95 delivered. Looks like I'm keeping the base for the car and selling the rest. Mum says they want to buy it but I don't want her to fork out all that so I'll see if both gramps want to go halvers. I AM SO EXCITED NOW. I really wanted this pram and was so jealous when BFF spent a whopping £850 on it all and now I have it in a different colour for less than half that.:j:j:j:j:j

Right, time to get out of jammies, get some breakfast and head to Tesco to exchange my vouchers...getting the Angel monitor thingie with them but I ordered the vouchers on-line last lot I got and they were so slow I thought things were going to go out of stock.

Sorry for waffling on and thanks for being here!:T:T

Twoflower, i can't help but have a little cry everytime i read your posts. You are an amazing, strong woman and are coping so well. I echo what others have said regarding ds. I see no harm in him sleepong in your bed for a while. When my oh goes away my dd stays in my bed. You both need each other so much at the moment.
I can't begin to imagine what its like, but as i've already said....we are here for you, so please come on and chat whenever you like ((hugs))
