  • Kiddicare were very very late in delivering my pram, so order early!

Thanks, well baby not due til Feb and I am hoping to order it next weekend, hoping that will give me plenty of time.
Still trying to work out what other things I need to get. I am so confused by what some websites say you really need, think I am just going to bluff it and hopefully will pull it off. :j

Ticklepenny, we didn get lucozade either. Just a glucose drink in what looked like a juice box. But it was orange flavoured so i was happy :)

Is that for glucose tolerance? I had to buy my own lucozade and a jug to measure it out

Congratulations TigTag love the name Leo :) hope you are both doing well.

Eyejoms thanks for the tip about the Hipp Organic Club - have just joined - will take all the free stuff I can get :D

Twoflower hope you manage to find something for the wedding. I have ordered a wedding to attend at the end of January when will be about 34 weeks and I have started looking now so it gives me time to find something. Have ordered a dress but am waiting for it to arrive so I can see if it's any good if not it will be going back.

Dusty Love those hand drawn trees - very expensive but they would look lovely in the nursery :)

I'm 23 weeks today - just one week till baby is viable :) I have got to have a GTT at 29 weeks - am not looking forward to it but would rather they check just in case as type II diabetes does run in my family - at least then you are sure to get the right level of care if it comes out positive :)

Picked up my courtesy car today - silly neighbour reversed into my car when we were on holiday. Has taken almost a month to get it sorted  they messed up at the hire care place though as the 1.0L they were supposed to give me wasn't any good so I've ended up with a 1.8L Astra SRi - was a bit scared driving it home - it goes so fast! :o

Last night bubs treated me to the most frantic and forceful movements yet. These felt like proper little hefty kicks and went on for ages - I was a little taken aback as haven't had anything quite so string before.......got me thinking how much harder they will get as time goes on

Am supposed to be putting some things on Ebay today but have been consumed by the comfyness of the sofa - really must force myself to get up and do something productive......in a bit :rotfl:

  • Good afternoon ladies,

I havnt been on all week been uber busy and dont have time to read back all the pages. sorry :o

BIG CONGRATS to all the new arrivals, glad your all safe and sound (now).

My week started with DH being unexpectantly made redundant  but in the same day he was offered an interview with another company which he starts a trial with on Monday but he's now going to be self employed - subcontracting so have been researching all of that stuff

I got my first product to test with bizziebaby too.

And I have suspected SPD. Still waiting to hear back from physio. It cant get too bad as I'm 29 weeks can it?

Been very sociable this week and weekend but I will hopefully get chance to pop back tomorrow.

Hope the rest of you are all ok

I'm getting one. But I *think* its a fallacy that bigger babies lead to a more dificult birth, unless its a 14 pounder, obv.!

If I have one round about the same size as DD then I will be happy enough, she was 9lb 6oz and had absolutely no problem giving birth to her. When she was born the midwifes did say "oh we have a good 10lber here" think they were a bit disappointed at her size LOL!

I was telling my DH what you did and he just said "good on her"! I was in stiches trying to tell him. I know it was a bit naughty but he so deserved it!:rotfl::rotfl:

We got a name plaque from here http://www.onefineday.co.uk/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=1 for DD and will get another one for bubs. The colours are fab and you get a certificate to go along with it. If you choose the animal one the letters have animals beginning with that letter e.g R would have rabbits round the letter, A is an angel fish etc.

  • Thanks, MV. Technically its criminal damage of course...and me a pillar of society:rotfl:

Technically what he did would be unlawful imprisonment, maybe?

Could I just make a wee suggestion :o This time I am going to pack plenty of food and drinks for DH. When i was in labour he had lunch but didn't get anything else until he went home the next day.

Partly that was my fault because at about tea time I started getting some serious non stop contractions and didn't want him to go :o:o:o and of course they don't offer the birthing partners anything (which I think is extremely unfair).

2girlsforme - depending on the result of your gtt you are also more than welcome to pm me. I was controlling my diabetes by diet prior to pregnancy and had done so for 6 years - the doctors all marvelled at this as usually people only seem to be able to control their diabetes by diet for 2- 3 years before having to take medication.

I sympathise with the gtt - it is not very pleasant at all - sickly lucozade drink on an empty stomach for several hours.

anyway since becoming pregnant iam having to inject insulin, but seem to be on low doses by comparison to other mums/mums to be i talk to at hospital and i think it is related to the dieatry measures i already had in place and have refined in the past few months.

coops - i also do not have any of the baby stuff in the house - supersitious maybe, but with having already had one miscarriage earlier on in the year, and now having the complications of a twin pregnancy coupled with diabetes i'm not tempting fate

molthedoll - thank you so much for the offer - I will take you up on it if I need to! I think it would be mostly dietary advice I would need. Well done you for controlling your diabetes so well normally.

I actually like lucozade - which is very helpful - but it is still a bit sickly when your stomach is empty! And although I am moaning about the GTT - I know there are much worse things that could be happening to me - and am happy to do whatever I have to to know that I am getting the best treatment for us both.

I am lucky that I actually know the diabetes midwife - she worked in the hospital that I gave birth to DD2 in - and then moved here! So I know she is looking out for me too. (she was very involved with DD2's aftercare - she needed an x ray on her broken arm and stuff)

My preloved pram is at my mam and dad's house - mother won't let me take it home - she is very superstitous!!

I'm getting one. But I *think* its a fallacy that bigger babies lead to a more dificult birth, unless its a 14 pounder, obv.

eta CL lower back pain is the start of it for me, getting steadily worse. In fact I feel most of stage 1 labour in my back.

I agree with you - although DD2 had complications due to her size - she was actually a much easier birth than DD1 and was delivered much much quicker - till her shoulders got stuck.

I had a lot of back pain in labour too - my contractions sort of merged from front to back - making it quite difficult to time them.

    Good luck CL

That is shocking!!! am obviously lucky in our unit it is the real deal - and I rather like lucozade! :)

right better go - DD's are fighting  and got to get DD2 ready for a birthday party
    DD1 - May 02 8lbs 6oz
