And reeeeelax. They think they are doing you a favour by not inviting you and making you feel awkward and obliged to go. I missed one last night but could've gone had I not planned a night in, alone, bored. Oh the joys! Try not to take it personal as I am sure they just have misguided good intentions.
LOL! I know DH kept telling me to calm down when I went off on one. I just take it so personally, I just wonder if I would be asked even if I wasn't pregnant"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
EA - My BMI is 42 and DD was 10lber and I had to request an extra scan at 34 weeks. I really think it depends on the hospital and which area of the UK you are in. I hate the GTT we dont even get lucozade we have to drink a glucose syrup which tastes foul. One of the many reasons I have told the MW and Consultant that I am not doing it. MW is fine with this but the temp consultant I saw was really rude about it, so I just told him it was not up for discussion as he clearly wasnt listening. Grrr. I get to see my consultant next week so hopefully she is nicer.DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

Morning ladies.
Slept for 10 hours straight last night, which makes a nice change as I haven't been sleeping well. However now I feel all stewed and have a banging headache. Can't win eh?
I have LOADS to do but I really can't motivate myself to do anything. Feeling a bit down and overwhelmed with everything at the monent.
Sorry for moaning.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Afternoon all.
I know there have been various posts about this, but was wondering if someone could post up a 'definitive' list of what you should pack to take to the hospital, both for myself and for baby.

Congrats Tigtag. I'm looking forward to reading your birth story. I hope it all went well.
As this is my first baby, I hope someone who already has gone through this can let me know if this is the start of things. The last 2 nights I've had really sharp, needle like pains in what I think must be my cervix. I've had really bad lower back pain and been in pain walking. I haven't felt any contractions I don't think (no tightening of the stomach). When I've woke up the next morning I've felt fine.
Any ideas of what this is (I'm 6 days overdue)?0 -

Moan away. I feel a bit like that, well, irationally ANGRY actually. I have done a naughty thing today.Just wondered if I would get one too as DD was a good size too. Although I have heard people say that 9lbers are the norm now.
I'm getting one. But I *think* its a fallacy that bigger babies lead to a more dificult birth, unless its a 14 pounder, obv.
eta CL lower back pain is the start of it for me, getting steadily worse. In fact I feel most of stage 1 labour in my back.
tigtag congratulations! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Hi MV,
Here's a link to the NHS recommendations for your hospital bag.

Well...I was just leaving a parking space when this guy pulled in and parked behind me (not a parking space) and blocked me in.
I asked him to move as we were leaving, he said he wouldn't as he had children to pick up (?!) and I asked him again, he ignored me and wandered off.
We were sat there for 10 min and then he moved, parking on a double yellow. So (and this is shameful) as I drove slowly past him I leaned out of the window and broke his wing mirror with my hand.
I did say sorry, but that is kind of not the point. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
