I'd phone, no need to worry about bothering her, that's what they're there for.

Thanks hun. After many phone calls i'm being sent straight up to the doctors who may or may not send me up to the hospital afterwards. Just waiting for my ride and i'm gone. Still have blurry vision and the sickness is overwhelming right now.

I have no idea what i'm going to do about the kids school run if they send me to the hospital. :(

 washing gets my goat too! Always asking me where things are and if they've been washed yet - if something need washing urgently bloody put it in the machine yourself!

Still dreading telling my boss about the pregnancy but I need to do it this week - what did everyone else say? As soon as I tell her I need a word she'll know something is up!

Apricot - sorry you've prob already explained but why are you dreading telling her?

I didn't really need to tell me boss directly because by the time I was 12 weeks my bump as quite visible.

Ladies i've just had a really weird dizzy spell. I'm sat down so how it is even possible I don't know. Was eating sugary biscuits at the time too lol. Anyhow... bubs was quiet before and even now I don't feel right and bubs is going mental. Is this something I should phone the midwife about do you think? I hate to bother her in case she's labouring with someone in need or something but this doesn't feel 'right'.

Anything I can try to stop feeling dizzy? This is weird!

How are you feeling now Charlie? Id give your MW a wee call.

Ive had some dizzy spells in the beginning and used to drink some sweet tea, it seemed to help.
Sorry thats not much use, but if you feel like something isnt right then definently call MW.

    Washable nappies

Is anyone else thinking of using theses? I'm considering using the old style terry square nappies as they would literally save us £100's. I used disposables for DS so it's all new to me.

i bought terry towelling squares, waterproof pants and liners for DD. I fully intended in using them. But after using disposables and seeing some of the disgusting poos that came out of her I never got round to it. Plus I was tired all the time, so it was conveinence.

I still have them all and have washed them thinking I might use them this time around. They just look so bulky on and Ive seen all these modern versions that look much neater.

Thanks flower - I will just have to man up and get on with it! Think I will leave it until the end of the day tomorrow as I can't deal with conflict (and there is likely to be - my boss is not a very nice person).

Pixie you are organised! That pram is nice though! I have a car seat already, was given to me by a friend yesterday - it's a Maxi Cosi one and has only been used 5 or 6 times because she doesn't have a car so it's in fab condition! I need to have a good clear out of my spare room before buying anything else as there is so much junk in there!

  • Argh, just lost my post!

Anyway, washing can be an issue here too. All I ask is that he takes it downstairs for me, we have fairly steep stairs and with my bad back as well I don' think it's too much to ask. But I'm still asked 3 times whether it's been done when everything is still upstairs.

MI3, hope things speed up for you. Must be frustrating and tiring x.

Madbird, sorry to hear about the scan. At least you get another look at bubs, you'll have to have words beforehand and tell them to behave! :)

    Alamaya, congrats on viability!

I was in a fairly rubbish mood yesterday. Think I'm getting a bit isolated. Don't have friends nearby and I have no transport during the day either. Dh had been out at hockey the night before too, so I hadn't really seen anyone. My mum came down last night which was good and when DH is at hockey again tonight I'm going to theirs for a while.

Managed to have a bit of a clear out yesterday. I have a sort of sewing/hobby/computer room, but between Christmas decorations waiting to go in the loft and baby stuff it was rather full. Got lots sorted though.

I found in my stash a little comfort teddy and a pink rabbit that have aida bibs for doing cross stitch on. I'm going to look out some patterns and do them for the bump. :) Managed to excavate the sewing machine too, which is handy!

Chicky, how's your cross stitching going? Any pics? :D

Hope they sort you out hon. And don't worry about the school run, I'm sure someone else can do it for you x.

I honestly do love my OH but he is really bugging me at the minute and I will be saying something tonight  Apricot I dont know if you remember from the less than 12 week thread but I was dreading telling my boss. We work in male environment , 25 men , 4 ladies and my boss hates pregnancy, says it costs him a fortune and basically makes your life hell. No-one has ever came back here after maternity leave and the last woman that went into say she was pregnant , went in all glowing and smiling and came out in tears and had to go home she was so upset so I was dreading it. But I just manned up and basically said " I need to talk to you about something private" he looked alarmed and said " Your not leaving are you ?" and I said " No not yet " and he said "but you will in 9 months , Ive guessed for ages , you look different, well done " I had a huge speech in my head so wasnt prepared for him being nice. Then since then he asks what stages im at, when Il get a bump etc. His wife even popped in the other day to bring his lunch in and came and spoke to me about baby things. Shes never spoke to me in the whole 7 years Ive worked here , maybe once actually to ask me to make her a coffee. So it might not be as bad as you think .I would do it this afternoon , that way youve only got to put up with her 2moro then its the weekend. If you do it on fri before you leave she could stew all weekend and be a nightmare on monday. Just my opinion but you feel so much better once its out the way
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

BBM I found a blog where a woman is trying all the different reusables. She raves about terrys. Ive had a look at a couple of products she mentions and I may actually use mine this time. Even if its just in the house, it will help save a few quid. I cant imagine how much ive spent on nappies with 2 already.

    here are some links

I figure ive already spent the bulk of the money 6 years ago, I may as well give them a go. One of the things that put me off was the nappy pins. Those nappy nippas look fab.

I even have the nappy soak from 6 years ago (think it might be solid now):rotfl:

Now im off to you tube to remind myself how to fold them
