 washing gets my goat too! Always asking me where things are and if they've been washed yet - if something need washing urgently bloody put it in the machine yourself!

Still dreading telling my boss about the pregnancy but I need to do it this week - what did everyone else say? As soon as I tell her I need a word she'll know something is up!

We were given 3 exercises to do:

The 'stopping wee' sensation, but don't hold it (squeeze and release). To be done 10 times 5 times a day

Squeeze and hold for 10 seconds. 10 times 5 times a day

Slowly squeeze, starting from the back (she descibed it like a zip that you're doing up from the back to the front). Squeeze hard, hold, then release slowly all the way and a little bit more (apparently if you relax it just a bit more it helps with baby coming out). To be done 5 times a day.

We were all sat around in a circle practising them during one ante natal class :rotfl:

    HTH

I'll have to print it out and take it to the loo with me. Can never remember them when I'm having a wee, and find it easier to do it when weeing :rotfl:

Was just wondering - I have a belly button piercing (have had it 13 years actually :o) and I know I am going to have to take the metal jewellery out soon as this being my 3rd baby I already have an outie button
I know it won't heal up (it's been pierced so long now and it withstood my previous 2 pregnancies) but my niece mentioned a plastic belly bar that you can use instead of the stainless steel during pregnancy - had a quick goggle but can't find anything - has anyone used anything like this?

Just don't fancy having a big hole where my jewellery usually goes! :o

I was intending to get a pregnancy bar, but had to take mine out for my 20 week scan, and never got round to putting it back :rotfl:It's just a slit now. My actual bellybutton seems to be expanding, so looks like I'll get an outie :(

Shame your scan didn't go so well madbird, but at least you get to see bubs again in 2 weeks. Hopefully they will co-operate then!

Sorry to hear the other ladies who have SDP :( I took some co-codamol last night, and slept with a pillow between my legs. Slightly better sleep once I got off, but still took ages to drop off. Also horrible getting comfy again after having a wee :( I'm hoping the physio can help!
I got a leaflet with the co-codamol saying that it's addictive and you aren't supposed to take it for more than 3 days? !!!!!!? I have to wait about 3 weeks for physio - doesn't seem right?

My cats are not allowed in my bedroom  Makes me feel ill to think of them going in the cat box, then coming upstairs, straight on my bed and likely my pillow, then cleaning their !!!!!! Spreading cat litter everywhere (one of my cats has long hair and it gets stuck in her paws sometimes). Not to mention all the cat hair - blergh. I have also read about people's cats being sick in their bedroom, weeing on their bed and doing other disgusting things. Bedroom = cat free area! The cats sleep one upstairs on landing, and the other in a cat bed downstairs. They miaow for breakfast once they hear my OH's alarm. Otherwise they are quiet as they know it won't get them anywhere :rotfl:

    Congrats on viability Alamaya :)

Now, what else was I going to say? So difficult to remember when the thread is several pages long :o

I'm going over to OH's sisters with his mum today for something to do. The kids aren't going to be much amused that I can't play with them or bend down, but everything's painful at the moment

Oh, SJP, sorry to hear your first day of mat leave was carp. Hopefully it will get better from now on when you can all get into a routine.
That's a good offer on the Pampers from Boots, but Amazon do 9 packs of wipes for £6, free delivery :)

    Hello all

finally managed to get my bloods done!!!! had to wait for 45 mins (no fun with a 2 yr old!) and then the woman was like oh you should have had these at 28 weeks (im 31) I was like well I have been trying to have them done but the service in this borough is a disgrace! she didnt say much else after that lol - pregnancy hormones.

Went to Asda and got 2 newborn strater kits for 50p - had my free vouche and a 2.50 off and their 3 quid now.

Got some baby shampoo for £1 for ds so happy about that too apart from that I was pretty disappointed with the rest of the stuff it was still quite expensive I think!

Anyway off to have some lunch nom nom (pasta, pesto, cherry tomatoes and cheese)

and on the subject of men - Is there a reason why they cant grasp the concept of piles oon the stairs need to be taken up as and when you go up - not rocket science have told him and he watches me take a pile up every time but he just cant manage it himself - when I pointed it out he took the pile up and left it at the top of the stairs........ok so I presume hes just expecting me to sort it arghhhh.

I could rant all day but I need to make lunch lol

    Hello Ladies!

Got my aptamil polar bear in the post today. If anybody needs to have a laugh then I recommend watching This Morning on itv player. Gino D'Acampo cooked naked and Holly's face was just hilarious for the whole thing. I think I may go and do some sneaky shopping online on the boots website and might have a little nosey round the matalan website too. Naughty me. :)

Also went to look at some of the buggies in boots and I think I've decided on the petite star city bug travel system as it has a HUGE basket underneath and the weird handles were actually very comfortable. Also it was only £150, which seems quite low for a travel system. Yes, I know it's a bit early but grandmother is already having a panic about the baby getting here. I reminded her it's only 16 weeks at the moment and she says 'but time flies!'. If you've never seen an old portuguese lady having a panic in the middle of boots and then chuckling loudly at all the cute baby clothes, count yourself lucky. EVERYONE turns around to see what's happening.

I said: '' Hi, I need to share some personal news with you that will have a impact on my work. Have you got 5 minutes?''

There's no need to feel bad about it. Tell your boss with a big smile on your face. Their natural reaction will be to congratulate you .

Then leave them to think about the implications on their own.
    Job done.
That's how I went about it - very matter of fact. It didn't cause any bad feelings or anything.
  • Washable nappies

Is anyone else thinking of using theses? I'm considering using the old style terry square nappies as they would literally save us £100's. I used disposables for DS so it's all new to me.

:rotfl::rotfl: I would love to see that as long as I was an innocent bystander :D

Bless, yay on deciding on your pushchair though :D

  • Ladies i've just had a really weird dizzy spell. I'm sat down so how it is even possible I don't know. Was eating sugary biscuits at the time too lol. Anyhow... bubs was quiet before and even now I don't feel right and bubs is going mental. Is this something I should phone the midwife about do you think? I hate to bother her in case she's labouring with someone in need or something but this doesn't feel 'right'.

Anything I can try to stop feeling dizzy? This is weird!

I'd phone, no need to worry about bothering her, that's what they're there for.

Hi babyboysmummy, I am considering using washables but am definitely making that decision after bubs gets here so will be using disposables for the first month or so.

I have heard that there are schemes where you can rent some nappies out and try before you buy (might be council run schemes) and I have a friend who went to a 'nappachino' morning to find out more before buying hers. I reckon the first month will be hectic enough without having the added washing / deal with making a decision like that!
