24 weeks today - V day for me :). Honestly never thought i would get here.
Is this where i actually realise i have to go through labour lol

    Congratulations - Happy days....

RBG - You take it steady with your wrists, dont make things worse!!

Well first day as a stay at home mum...... I've been reminded why I work full time!! Hubby obviously in an helpful mood and went to bed as soon as DS & I got up (he's on nights and usually stays up to see DS off to school) after announcing the uniform was ready.... DS wanted a cooked breakfast too... So, asked DS to get dressed while I made bacon, looked at his uniform and it was filthy! Told DS to take it off, couldn't find another uniform, so called MIL on off chance she had one, which she did, but no offer to drop it off on her way to work  so plated up breakfast, got in car and drove to MIL (in jama's) got back and packed DS swim gear up, ready for school....

Finally sat down, only to hear 'Dad's not made my lunch for school'
by this time i'm pretty stressed, bubs sitting heavy on my bladder, i've back ache and feel sick.... So, made said lunch then had to drop DS at school as he was now running late to walk down!!!! OH and I will be having words when he gets up, hope he doesn't think that cos i've a few months off work, his contribution to the house can stop :mad:

Sorry for the rant, its really wound me up, nearly cried coming back from school.... Time for a cuppa and a chat with you lot, then having a look for a tens machine.....

Hope everyone else is having a better start to the day xx
Challenges - repay all credit cards by end of 2015

  • Awww hugs SJP sorry your first morning as a SAHM wasn't as stress free as it could have been....seee bl00dy men lol.....

Have just discovered I need to try and put my main pc together again as hubby took it apart and I now need some stuff that I have stored on the HD :( think I'll just take the lappy up the stairs with me lol....am playing my music through it atm and bubs is dancing along inside me....hubby had his hand on my belly last night going to sleep and couldn't believe how active he was being but tbh I have gotten used to it and it's not really his activity that wakes me now lol

D'oh brain not holding info....I put my name down for a tens machine through parentcraft in our maternity unit as the tens machine I have I just don't think will help lol

Congrats on viability Alamaya. At almost 30 weeks it's not quite sunk in yet about labour or more worryingly being responsible for a little one for me... I think it might be when contractions actually start that I realise it!!

((hugs pixie)) and good luck for the scan madbird, so exciting but I know what you mean about it being worrying - hope bubs co operates and puts your mind at rest!

Teenie - I have bought the babasling through ebay and it seemed good looking at the reviews. Can't wait for it to get here so I can practice with a teddy :rotfl: :rotfl:

I did write a post yesterday but due to being on stupid phone I lost the lot, so sorry, I have been thinking of you all :) No idea what I was going to say to everyone though. I was laughing lots at the conversations about wee, it is definitely harder to get it in the pot now I can't see past the bump :rotfl: :rotfl:

Saw the consultant yesterday (final appointment to see if my cervix was okay after colposcopy - after 2 scans that showed it was I still had to go back and see them!! Still she had a feel of bubs who has his head down (clever baby), told me my GTT and iron levels are normal, and said there was no reason (at the moment) for me not to have a waterbirth :j:j Just keeping my fingers crossed that everything stays that way!!

Hugs everyone, sorry am sure there was more I wanted to say :grouphug: but a dodgy hug will have to do for all of you xx

Just got in!!! Not used to these late nights...... Had a lovely day and feel quite emotional, gonna have to find somewhere to put all these lovely gifts tomorrow....

Which one did you get in the end??? I'm looking at the Elle Tens, think I might hire one in the morning....

    Any new arrivals???

That's the one. Comes in a handy little case with batteries and a post-paid return envelope.

I know exactly how you feel hun! I do this every day plus a full days work. It wouldn't be possible if I had to work in an office (well it would but I don't know how i'd manage it all). Luckily I work from home. Doesn't make the morning lunch/getting dressed/breakfassed routine any less droll though! Two school runs a day and then when i've finished work it's tea time and I have to sort that too. I too have shed a few tears over it!

Take it easy for the rest of the day. Big hugs. Can totally sympathise! xx

    Happy Viability Alamaya!

Pixie - hope things seem a bit better today!

Right... better get some work done! Labour vibes to those that need them and hugs and none backache/sickness vibes to everyone else.

  • Thanks hun, I am trying with the pelvic floor. However I keep reading conflicting advice on how to do it :rotfl: First I was stopping a wee mid stream quickly, holding for 20 seconds, then releasing. Then I read you should stop it quickly, release slowly, then stop again even quicker. Hmm :rotfl:

I've ordered a long pillow tonight, so really hoping this will help!

We were given 3 exercises to do:

The 'stopping wee' sensation, but don't hold it (squeeze and release). To be done 10 times 5 times a day

Squeeze and hold for 10 seconds. 10 times 5 times a day

Slowly squeeze, starting from the back (she descibed it like a zip that you're doing up from the back to the front). Squeeze hard, hold, then release slowly all the way and a little bit more (apparently if you relax it just a bit more it helps with baby coming out). To be done 5 times a day.

We were all sat around in a circle practising them during one ante natal class :rotfl:

  • Morning Ladybumps

Madbird - Good luck with the 20 week scan :j mine is on 16th Feb so counting down.

Pixie - Not sure how old you OH is? - guessing quite young if living with mother but no excuse for his behaviour - are there any plans afoot for you guys to move in together when the baby is born? - I'm a bit worried about your support network for the birth/early days too as some of the ladies on here have already said :o You need to sit him down for a good chat soon x

Hugs to all those having issues with unhelpful OH's - I am lucky with mine now but I have been married before to a faulty model so I can relate - kick up the bum for them all I say! ;)

Was just wondering - I have a belly button piercing (have had it 13 years actually :o) and I know I am going to have to take the metal jewellery out soon as this being my 3rd baby I already have an outie button
I know it won't heal up (it's been pierced so long now and it withstood my previous 2 pregnancies) but my niece mentioned a plastic belly bar that you can use instead of the stainless steel during pregnancy - had a quick goggle but can't find anything - has anyone used anything like this?

Just don't fancy having a big hole where my jewellery usually goes! :o
  • GB - Do you have any tattoo/piercing shops in your town? They should sell them, I had one last time for DD but found I didnt like it much so took it out and let it grow over but you might get on with it. Failing that I think there are a few sellers on ebay of pregnancy belly bars. HTH

Your local tattoo parlour or piercing parlour will have the plastic ones GB......my friend was able to get one when she was PG
