Does peeing in those things get any easier with practice? I always end up with it all over my hands!:p
Nah I still pee all over my hand and this is my second. I did try and "catch" it in the shower once, bit stupid really would have watered it down LOL. I had one of those little cardboard thingies that you catch it with (I used it for my dippy pregnancy tests) but when it started going yellow at the bottom I'd thought I'd better throw it away.:rotfl:

I always find it easier if my bladder is fairly full, better umm, flow.I also wrap it in loo roll, so any misses aren't as bad. :rotfl:
I have about 3 or 4 empty ones somewhere. At the outpatient clinic at the hospital they have a little basket of them so you can help yourself and they say to take a few. And at my last midwife check she gave me a new one too.
Sequeena, hope you manage to get your doppler/scan today, totally appauling treatment, not surprised you discharged yourself.
MI3, hope you're not kept waiting for baby too long! Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -
What a nightmare morning I have had. Went off to get Anti D injection at hospital, managed to get really lost as first sat nav took me to wrong place and then all the roads seemed to be closed. My petrol was also extremely low which was panicking me , managed to get there 15 mins late. Paid £4 parking. Got taken in and told that my blood results weren't in so they couldn't give me it as i might have antibodies in my blood. So now have had to come back home and have to ring at half 2 and if they have results have to go back in.
Hi Wendz. When I had my Anti-D done, I was 29 weeks and had my 28 week bloods taken literally minutes before my Anti-D injection. So there would be no way if they would have known if there were antibodies in my blood. I got the results of my bloods a week later when I went for a MW appt. Very odd how hospitals work in different ways.
Labour vibes to MI3
Sorry Hngrymummy but the random man and your car made me :rotfl:
Giz - My DH works nights - but that's out of choice  He's self employed and prefers nights to days. Anyway, I'm used to it now. If I've been at work then I only have to worry about dinner for me and the dogSaying that, I only work 2 days a week so the rest of the time I make sure I'm home from lunchtime onwards so that we cans pend the afternoon together and make him his lunch etc. How far aways is his work from home in case you went into labour? Have you got family close by as a back up plan?
Hope everyone is well. I swear bubs has her foot permanently lodged in my right rib when I sit on my office chair. She obviously doesn't like it :rotfl:
catch you all later x

I suppose at least I am on maternity I actually get to see him for a bit in the morning, if I was working I wouldn't see him at all. He usually works 1 or 2 'lates' a week plus works Saturdays too so usually I only get Sundays (which half the time isn't quality time because we're seeing parents). Being on mat leave has meant I get to spend 2 days off a week with him which has been great.
He works about an hour away. So it's not too bad. And yes, my parents and in-laws are within 15 minutes away - oh and don't they both constantly remind me!! They keep phoning - I think just to suss out if I'm in labour. I keep telling them I will phone!Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

Re: Pee pots.
I've always found it really easy to pee in them :P (hidden talent... should make it my party trick) I make use of pelvic floor. Start, hold, position pot and bob's your uncle. lol.

Thanks, we are surviving. Very busy as I'm working evenings examining as well as days...Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I've had the same pee pot since about 12 weeks! It was the same with DD, had to keep using the same one.
I'm using the same sample pot I used all the way through with DS, who is now 19 months lol! Obviously I wash it out!!
They never gave me a fresh one last time round, and sometimes I only remembered it was still in a small pocket of my handbag a few days later ewww. So this time when told to take a sample to the booking appt, I remembered I still had that pot so used it and still never been given a fresh one.0 -

Ooh I didn't know your OH worked night too Sammy. Is it permanent nights?
My OH works Mon - Thurs 7.30pm to 6.30am. Although he does every friday night as overtime and has been doing the odd sunday too .
I really dont mind him doing nights, he always has done since leaving school. He earns great money and for working a fri nite he doubles his wage. It means I have lots of time to meet friends, do exercise classes (yeah right!) during the week and makes weekends more special..
However, I am worried about how i'll cope with bubs.......he is only going to be doing mon-thurs when he goes back after paternity leave for the first couple of months which will help.
Maybe you and I can start a 2am feed club on here.....:rotfl:Nah I still pee all over my hand and this is my second. I start, hold cup under, pull away and finish.
Doesn't splash everywhere and you only need a small amount in the cup anyway.
Thanks for the bargains Charlie - i went into Matalan last night but was desperate for a pee so didn't have a proper look. I much prefer shopping online to going into the shops anyway0
