The other thing if anyone is looking for a sensitive washing substance(esp for washing babies clothes in)? - I heard that Surcare is alright so I had a look and Tesco have 2 for 4.50 (its 20 washes in each bottle) Its non bio liquid and Ive done a couple of washed and its worked fine - cleaned everything ok and has not irritated my skin - which was the problem. Ive not tried it on whites yet but I will and keep everyone posted.
My skin has been terrible recently so im hoping this will ease up the itching and dry skin.

My parents have used Surcare for many years as my mum has really sensitive skin and a lot of other stuff is perfumed, which sets off her asthma. They've not had any trouble with it, and it always gets their clothes clean. Not sure how it is on baby sick/poo though.

Apricot - unless I'm just rubbish, then no, it doesn't get any easier, especially when your bump gets bigger and it gets harder to reach. When I first registered with a Dr at uni I was given a pee pot and was even smaller than the pregnancy ones we get here. I just never bothered.

Sammy - I can see the funny side a little bit this morning. He was really insistant about the car "I can take away the rusty old car for you" "No it's mine, I'm keeping it" "Even though it needs some work" "IT'S MINE" "I can take it away for you" "IT'S MINE"
I took it out for a spin in the evening to Mothercare to buy a tankini, and it still works fine :p

The new bit of fence and huuge padlock that DH put up last night are brilliant. He's happy too, as he used it as an excuse to buy a new drill and a floodlight.

Just been for my first aqunatal clas. Why did I never go before? It was fab :)

Just having a sit down to let my lunch digest before cracking on with painting.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Well, back from the doctors. I do have SPD :( Explains the total agony I've been in for weeks now. Seems really bad today, and was very painful last night. Really struggled to get comfortable. As well as bump getting heavier and dragging when I lay on my side. Only position that was comfortable was on my back and we get told "you can't do that" *rolls eyes*.

She has given me some co-codamol for at nights, but I am a bit wary to take it. She knows I am pregnant, indeed she was the doctor who confirmed it, and how far along I am. Said it should be fine. Also said I could try a 'not-too-hot-hot-waterbottle'. She has given me a number for physio, so will ring them in a minute. Gawd knows how much that is going to cost :(

Had a walk around town, looked in a couple of charity shops to see if they had any baby stuff, but all rubbish. Did manage to get a book for £1 though.

I'm really down now as having the odd walk was boosting my mood quite a lot, and now I can't even do that :( Walking around town and getting in and out of car was so painful :(

Anyone else got SPD who has any tips or experiences? :o

Weeing in a pot. Yes I have the same one too, but would be such a waste if they gave us a new one each time. I just wrap tissue around it in case of any spillages, and seems to work out OK :D
  • DP, why would your physio cost?

If you google Pelvic Girdle Pain there are a few good websites that give lots of helpful advice.

As well as bump getting heavier and dragging when I lay on my side. I find a pillow under the bump when I lay on my side help a LOT! It goes under the bump then between my legs to stop my hips rolling forward and causing more pain.

When I had it last time, I was given a support belt to wear round the bump and this really helped me. It wasn't pretty and it was quite uncomfortable when sitting but really helped for moving around and walking. Also gentle swimming and aqua aerobics really helped to keep mobile but not make it more painful, was quite nice in the water to soothe the spd pain.

The pressure is on now. OH has just been told he has to work 2.5 weeks of 1pm - 10pm's starting Monday. I'll be 38+5 to 42 weeks :( I know a lot of you have OHs that work lates/nights and I don't know how much you hate it but the thought of spending every night on my own during my last few weeks of pregnancy is just horrible :( And it basically means I won't see OH much at all as when he works a late he doesn't get home till 11pm, and usually sleeps till 10am and then by the time he's bathed and dressed he's off to work :(

Giz - My hubby has worked three shifts for years, days, nights and afters and it works quite well, especially when bubs gets older as hes back/off in time to sort bubs so I can get a lay in etc....

Pee Pots - I've been using the same one all the way through, never really given it any thought but now you've all mentioned it :rotfl: I can't pee in the pot any more, I can't reach.... I'm only small and my bump is massive, so mw just been giving me a stick to pee on....

    MI3 & Iwcus - Hope you're having mummy cuddles....

DP - Sorry to hear about the SPD, can't you get physio on NHS??

Bubs can make an appearance any time she likes now, i'm back at work in June, so the earlier she comes, more time I can have with her.... Awww my boss just sent me a lovely email, saying he's counting the days til i'm back already..... I'll be welling up soon....

I'll check in later, to see if we have more arrivals...

Sounds like your boss/colleagues are lovely sjp. Some lovely pressies too by the sounds of it. I would be the same as you, will miss my work colleagues.

Digital - sorry to hear about the SPD, at least you know why you are in pain now. I would have thought you can get physio on the nhs too.

I don't officially have SPD. But have been experiencing pelvic pain for ages now.

Before my bump got too big I had that 'dragging' sensation when lying on my side. During this period I used a pillow to support the bump in bed and also a pillow between my legs. I read it's important for your ankles to remain parallell too, so use the pillow length ways. When my bump got big I didn't need the pillow for the bump anymore.

I've tested not using pillows at all and can confirm for me that having the pillow between the legs means less pain the following day.

Other tips are to try and keep your legs together when getting in and out of bed/cars.

I also find being on my back the most comfortable (even at 39 weeks) and often find myself waking up on my back. My best mornings with regards to lesser pain getting out of bed in the morning have been the nights where I've slept on my back propped up by loads of pillows so i'm more sitting like they do on OBEM. I don't do it often - just when I feel like the heartburn is going to cause me to vomit.

I find the days when I've been sitting on a dining chair at the table (usually crafting) better than the days where I'm probably slouching too much on the sofa. Maybe implying posture plays a part for me.

Anyway, maybe some of that will help.

My physio said if you're having problems sitting on the car seat then swiveling round (iyswim) to try sitting on a glossy magazine or a carrier bag to help. Almost roll out of bed, round onto your side then up. If stairs are a problem (which mine are only when my back is bad) then going up one stair at a time helps. In and out the bath, sit on the edge and turn round. Basically avoid anything that involves opening your legs too far.

I'm back at physio on Monday, having problems again. Should hopefully get a support belt this time, too big for the tubi grip now!

    SJP, have a lovely afternoon.
