Woooo for MI3.... Let's hope you'll have bubs with you soon!
Sequeena - I was genuinely appalled to read how they treated you at the hospital. You have every right to complain and ask for a scan or doppler. I would honestly call into the maternity unit and explain everything. I hope you get your scan/doppler and it puts you at ease.
Well, I have to go see the midwife at 14.00 and have to say I am not looking forward to it. I keep getting worried that something has happened to bubs and it's not okay. I guess it's just general pregnancy worriesWhat actually happens at the 16 week appointment? Does the MW do a doppler?
Ooooh loose women are discussing whether men could handle pregnancy as well as women later. Should be an amusing watch :P
Hi Pixie
At my 16 week appointment the midwife didn't listen to baby's heartbeat (said sometimes it's too early to pick it up and she's had to send ladies for scans in the past having not been able to find heartbeat)
Others have said that the midwife has used the doppler - prob another one of those varying things again.
My consultant used the doppler on me at about 14 weeks (I'd had some bleeding) so at least I had already got to listen to baby's heartbeat.:)
At my 16 week appointment the only other thing she did was tested my wee and did my blood pressure - I didn't really have any questions for her so that was about it.0 -
I took everyone's advice on Monday and went straight home. OH even came and picked me up from the station so I didn't have to struggle up the hill. Didn't get much sleep that night because it was quite painful.
However, went to my Tai Chi class last night and it feels so much better. I'm not stiff anymore, still got a pain in my right hip but not as bad. Def gonna stick with the Tai Chi for as long as possible, it's supposed to have lots of benefits as an exercise during pg.
Labour vibes and hugs for those that need them.
Ooh I used to do Tai Chi before I was pregnant with DD it was really good (and hilarious at times LOL!). Good breathing exercises too, I still use them at times if I can't sleep at night."That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

I got a doppler. She just checked my urine and blood pressure and went over my results from the booking in appointment, it was really quick. I also got kinda told off for not having my maternity notes in the bounty folder which was stupid, I think it was because they gave me a 'personal' strap for when they take bloods which was odd possibly some promo thing.
My booking in the other MW said we'd do a sample bottle exchange each time we met, this time they said to take it away with me and wash it out and reuse it, didn't even empty it for me - so I had to go to work with a bottle of pee in my bag!!
I thought she was just being wierd but the GP did the same thing on Mon as well - must be NHS cutbacks lol0 -

I've had the same pee pot since about 12 weeks! It was the same with DD, had to keep using the same one.:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0 -
Aw Anni sorry you are feeling so carp, I had noticed you hadn't been around.
Hope you feel better soon hun x
Well I have just received a letter from tax credits regarding phone call to them last week explaining that DH had changed jobs and had an increase in wages. Well obviously I never explained myself properly as I have got the new details here and they have entered our whole joint income for the year under DH's! :wall::doh: They have overestimated our income for the year by nealy £10k :rotfl:
I'm not even going to bother phoning back, it can get sorted in April when we can give them an accurate figure. The good news is that we don't owe them anything which I was worried about and our CTC's will increase by about £20 for the next couple of months.
Ladies when you have your babies, ctc's are brilliant for that extra wee bit of money but it is soooo complicated!
Thanks hun,
Ill prob cheer up once I get back into the thread lol.
On a funny note ds said yesterday "Can I have little brother now to play and tidy up" lol - think he might be a bit disappointed when it arrives and doesnt move much lol.
And for tax credits - I have to phone them to tell them of oh's new wage but i cba its so complicated and pointless because in April we wont be entitled to anything anyway - earned too much this year between us.
On a bit of a random thought for any ladies who already have more than one child do they automatically change your child benefit or do you have to contact them and tell them when youve had it? I know I have to contact ctc but I wasnt sure about cbI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

lol! - me too - I forgot about mine though till the next day!
I find the pee in the pot scenario differs from midwife to midwife - some just take the whole pot from you/others ask you to remove the lid and then do the dip test and hand the pot back.
I don't think any of mine have ever emptied the pot or given me a fresh one.0 -

I forgot to say that happened to me the other week I put it in my car and forgot about it until it fell out the door yesterday whilst I was loading the car from tesco I was like what the h3ll was that then I realised and had to chase a bottle of old wee through car park :rotfl:I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. Yes it is complicated - I've claimed in the past but we are not entitled to them now either.
From memory I think you have to do the same as first time - i.e. contact them and inform after the birth - don't quote me on that though cos I'm going back 7 years!0 -
