Morning ladies and congratulations on our new arrivals, can't wait to see some pics :)

Been for my 34 week midwife appt this morning. Results from gtt were test 1/ - 4.0, test 2/ - 6.1 which is fine aparently-means nothing to me. And iron count was 12, which im really pleased about as i was anaemic in previous pregnancies. The only thing i'm worries about is i'm measuring at 35, i'm already petrified that this baby is going to be bigger than the last (9lb12.5). I always go overdue so gives baby a bit of extra growing time......I just can't do it! Oh, and she couldn't find babys heartbeat, but there was no need to worry as he gave her a good kick :)

Hope everyone has a good day today and labour vibes for those that want them xx

edit to add....just read back to M-I-3's post this morning, fingers crossed that everything goes as planned for you chick, its exciting all these births xx

Ice - re baby's sleeping arrangements during the day I am trying to cast my mind back to what I did when mine were young.
I had a moses basket (well for as long as they fitted in it) but I only used in the cot at night time (I wanted to make a clear distinction between day and night from the start - curtesy of whatever book I was reading back then I think - seemed to work ok though :o)
From memory when we were at home in the day DS and DD fell asleep pretty much anywhere and everywhere - on play mat - on my lap etc...
I used to put them in the middle of my king size bed on a pillow (obviously when I was still in room) and I recall DS falling asleep on sofa when he was very young and couldn't roll about
I'm not sure what I'll do for this time but prob similar x

I have read about the association of upstairs in cot = night time and therefore sleeping somewhere else in the day time. I also didn't like the thought of baby being upstairs by himself in the day to sleep while I am downstairs, or maybe I am being an over anxious mummy lol.

Sequeen, (hugs) to you. I would definately give the MW a call and see if they can have a little check on things for you. I am sure if you explain what yoou have been through they will.

Mi3, labour vibes to you, doesn't look like its going to be too much longer.

Day off today, as its a Wednesday. I have my 28 week check with MW today, although I am not 28 weeks until tomorrow, but near enough lol :D

    Hope everyone else is OK

  • Hi iceice that's an interesting idea about 2 places to sleep, I hadn't given it much thought yet but sounds like a good plan.

Apricot have you told work yet? I am planning to tell mine maybe this Friday as have a consultant appointment now next week and it will be too many appointments by then without explaining...
In terms of food I am always snacking, I get boxes from Graze.com posted to work so I eat relatively healthily in the office, it's evenings and weekends that's more worrying he he. Also really like Sainsbury's fruity peach yoghurt so I always buy a big tub of that for snacking as combines both dairy and calcium in one. Or was it protein and calcium, I dunno...

Mine tended to sleep in whatever room I was in at the time (be it upstairs or downstairs) - my PC was upstairs in my bedroom so thus why my bed was a popular location.;)
Not sure how much difference it made really - just made sure the moses basket was only used at night - used to move it downstairs then take it upstairs when we went to bed and plonk it in the cot in our room - seemed to work ok for us

    Morning Ladies

Sequeena Sorry to hear about your treatment - that's awful and I would definitely complain!

Make-it-3 Good luck - hope things move quickly for you!

Sparkle - I still haven't told work (Im such a wimp) but I was planning on telling her on Friday afternoon - thought that she could have the weekend to recover from the shock! I really don't want to tell her yet but she's started planning things for me to be doing later on in the year so im going to have too - plus I have a few appointments comnig up in February!
If I am being a real wimp I may ring her mobile Saturday morning and pretend I've just found out (is that really bad?)

I have just eaten 4 Weetabix - thats's not normal surely? If I carry on like this I will be the size of a house and baby will be a 14lb whopper!

Congratulations to sarah and 2girls, cant wait to see piccies!! Hope lwcus is having her cuddles too!

Sequeena so sorry to hear about your treatment at the hospital and I hope everything goes a bit better today when you get your bloods done. Demand a doppler/scan to put your mind at rest!! And I hope you start to feel better soon.

Sorry I cant remember anyone elses news....Coops keeps getting kicked?? Thats about it, pregnancy sure does have a lot to answer for!!

Well not much going on over this way, and I really mean that too. Bubs has been so quiet lately, Im still getting movements, just not as much as before which Im guessing is normal as we are 34+4 now so there cant be a great deal of room left in there. I dont remember the movements slowing down with dd, but then again she was and still is very active. Have midwife this afternoon so will ask her whats normal and whats not.

Cat came in last night limping and looking quite rough, silly moo has been fighting. This has happened a few times before and it has righted itself in the past so Im giving her a couple days r&r before I start thinking about taking her to the very expensive vets (she isnt insured).

DD and I were late this morning, dd was up through the night asking for milk (she is 2 and still asks for milk during the night, never gets it though so dont know why she asks), anyhoo because she had been up numerous times when she eventually did go back to sleep she overslept so we missed our bus, then we missed our back up bus that means we just get to the childminder on time if we miss the first bus. Finally got another, met childminder at the school she was doing a drop off at, flung dd to her (bad mummy forgot to say bye, cue guilty feelings all day) then did a waddle run to get another bus but missed it by seconds.

Im having trouble walking as it is, hips and pelvis are so painful so running probably wasnt the best idea.

DD is off to my mums on thurs eve til sun afternoon so that OH and I can have some peace, quite and time together before this one comes along. DD loves going to Nanas so dont feel too guilty about that one.

Why is it as a parent you always feel bad/guilty about something you are/arent doing with your child??

Oh on the subject of names we have Maggie already (it was the only name I loved so glad she came out a girl lol) and this time we have decided on Lola for a girl and Jude for a boy. Yes, we realise these are all names included in songs, no idea why we go for them lol. Who else mentioned Jude on here? I did see it somewhere....

Right, I think Ive bored you all enough now!!

Even if you do put the baby upstairs to sleep in the day you'll only be sneaking up every 10 mins to check anyway:rotfl:

DM - I LOVE Maggie too!
My amazing Nanna turns 96 years old on the 31st March, day before my due date, and she is a Margaret. I thought it would be lovely to name our child Maggie if a) she is a girl and b) comes a day earlier to share her b'day with her great-grandma, but OH doesn't like the name.
Plus the name we do have for a girl i am also totally in love with.

I'm hoping that if this one is a girl we will stick with our original choice but if we are lucky enough to have another and she is a girl then I can convince OH to have Maggie.

The pressure is on now. OH has just been told he has to work 2.5 weeks of 1pm - 10pm's starting Monday. I'll be 38+5 to 42 weeks :( I know a lot of you have OHs that work lates/nights and I don't know how much you hate it but the thought of spending every night on my own during my last few weeks of pregnancy is just horrible :( And it basically means I won't see OH much at all as when he works a late he doesn't get home till 11pm, and usually sleeps till 10am and then by the time he's bathed and dressed he's off to work :(

Sorry just feeling sorry for myself. So now I'm just going to want this baby now so I can get him on Paternity leave instead!
