hiya ladies.......

was just having a nosey to see who was about before I headed back to bed when I saw your post Sequeena....I second Coops in that I would put in a complaint about your treatment and ask for a scan just to check bubs in the morning when you go to have your bloods done.....it doesn't matter how understaffed a hospital is you are entitled to a certain level of care and that's what the Patient's Charter is there for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient's_Charter

I live in Northern Ireland so just looked it up to give you a general idea but it outlines what care you can expect to receive......

Thank you both, I'm glad I've not gone nuts and this is not how people are normally treated (never been into hospital before, even with my overdose it was just A&E). I will feel more reassured if I can get a scan... I doubt I will get one that day though... so if all they can offer is a doppler then I'm there.

I'm not sure whether to ring my community midwife to talk to her about it or should I just leave it until my 16 week appointment?

I'd talk to your midwife and tomorrow ask/demand a scan as I think you might find they will do one for you under the circumstances. Don't ask , you don't get, certainly in my book. :-)

But yeah, give your midwife a ring, she can probably help, even if it's just for a chat about things.

That's what this place is all about, helping one another. I can't rate this thread highly enought sweetie.

The policy over here is that if you are in anyway concerned about your baby you can go to the local maternity unit admission dept and they will examine you and make sure that everything is ok by doing a scan....the start of my pregnancy was a bit up and down and I had a couple of very bad UTIs and on one occasion was in so much pain it was actually scary and I phoned the admission dept and they told me to come down, even if it was just to put my mind at rest so if you can get yourself to the local maternity unit I would pop along......I take it you have had your 12 week scan (baby brain doesn't remember bits and bobs like that :P) Give the community MW a call in the morning and see what she says too as it's 4 weeks til your next appt and that's a long time to have something on your mind, especially when you are already in a fragile state (and I don't mean that in a derogitory way I have depression as well and know how my own mind works and how fragile I can become x)

Hey sweetie,

I'm good other than the internal bruising!!! lol I would only be complaining if the little kick boxing star was being quiet so never happy.
Little tired but catching up on the sleep I think. I managed a whole 7+ hours uninteruped (sp) today which is novel for me even when I'm not working never mind working!!! Winner. A few more of those and I will be a happier chappy then it will be Monday and I will have to try and turn night into day again!!!! Hee Heee.
I suspect I will be joining the insomniacs club for a few more days next week!!!

Wow 7+ hours is pretty good going at this stage......I would have at least one toilet wake in there lmao

I'm not doing too bad thanks sweetie.....am just about to head back to bed as my hands have been really sore all day and it's hurting to type and taking forever to type as well so have been quiet most of the day lol.....got my hospital bag packed today so that will shut hubby up lol.....

Heading in for my 34 week appt in the morning and as I didn't see my physio at antenatal tonight am going to see if I can track her down in the morning and see about getting a bit of acupuncture for the carpal tunnel as it's getting really annoying now....my hands are so swollen I put my wedding rings on tonight and they nearly stopped my circulation :S

am also tired so that'a not helping.....dozed off for 10 minutes during shameless earlier and I think that is why I am still awake but am going to bite the bullet and head up stairs now xxxx

Morning everyone I hope lots of sleep was had by all. It doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get I'm still exhausted all the time.

Morning all, looks like we might have some action following yesterday's sweep. Plug seems to be coming away and mild contractions too.

Waited till the alarm went off to tell OH and he said he would work from home today, but promptly turned over and said he would get some extra kip first!

I've been awake most of the night excited that things might be happening, could do with a snooze myself but don't want to risk things tailing off.

Thank god for MSE to keep me occupied.
