Give him a treat RBG, get dressed :) I reckon its good to keep em on their toes if he's expecting you to be in your jammies!!

 at Lillian (that made me giggle a bit, sorry!!)

GB we were similarly undecided hence going for a 2nd hand one (£53 on ebay). The Sola is fine from newborn without it (we also got the footmuff), and from what I've heard babies often grow out of them / stop liking them quickly, the lady mine was from said her girl had been in it 10 weeks!!

Main reason I wanted one is we have tickets for a festival we go to every year a month and a half after I'm due  so I thought the carrycot would help protect baby from the elements and make it a bit easier for us to go along (we are not camping this year lol, it is a 10 minute drive from home, so I'm open minded about how much time we'll spend there). No way was I paying for a brand new one tho, but quite a few come up on ebay, plus I'll probably sell it on once baby grows out of it.

Undecided about the matress as baby won't be in it overnight and based on the fact that it has had such little use. I will see how I feel nearer the time. I think the matress it comes with isn't suitable for overnight anyhow, I think I saw something on M&P website about them selling another one for overnight use...

On the festival - you are brave ema hope you enjoy it

Thanks for the info on the carrycot - I wouldn't be surprised if M&P did sell another separate mattress for night sleeping - it's all sold separately isn't it so we have to spend more!
We have got the car seat and the adaptors and the footmuff too so may leave it at that for time being!

nah, im aiming for the 2nd off May as Oh is off then and the 3rd :D mind you if its a girl we fancied calling her April. we cant do that if shes a May baby. Hmmm Mae.....

I love April for a name! When I was doing a placement in a primary school there was a wee girl called April and I loved it from then on OH doesn't like it though and tbh don't think it would go with surname.

I was aiming for May 3rd LOL and that is exactly 10 days after edd so might just happen ;)

Pwease can someone help me? Ive asked this question before and got no response as I think a couple of ladies went into labour lol. We are getting the quinny buzz and my mum and dad are buying the carrycot which says on t'internet is safe to use like a moses basket, any ideas where I can purchase a stand for it ?

The Quinny buzz (my friend has one and recommends) was on my shortlist but went for another pram in the end.

I'm not sure about a stand - doesn't it just attach to the chassis?
Did you mean a stand like for a moses basket?

Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Just popping back on to say congrats to Jenhugs! - missed this earlier.

We went to M&P yesterday and brought our pushchair - went to this one after lots of debate - feels easy to push for a shortie like me :)

    http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-sola-2-in-1-grass/103511100/type-i/

Cool, we were deciding between the Sola and Zoom, but went for the Zoom in the end. We wanted a carrycot, and the Zoom comes with one already. Incredibly easy to push, love M&P buggies. Looked in Mothercare and Babies R Us after M&P and found all the buggies in there really bulky and no way as nice. Also fits in my car a treat, with room for a few shopping bags :T

We're planning on baby sleeping in carrycot for first few months. Didn't realise you'd need to buy another mattress for overnight sleeping. Getting fed up with all these additional hidden costs I keep finding out about :( I'm sure much of it is unnecessary and scare mongering. Plays on worriers like me

Just wondering if anybody else had a huge increase in urination and thirst this early on in pregnancy? Just on the days I actually manage to eat, I can't stop feeling thirsty. And I went out to town with OH on Saturday and I went to the loo before I left and as soon as I left I had to go again. Then he kept getting annoyed as we were watching a movie and I kept having to pause it to go to the loo. If this gets worse, I'm worried I'll have to move into the bathroom!:eek::eek:

Yeah, I am the same. Must say it hasn't got any better for me. I've always been a frequent wee-er though :rotfl:It's particularly fun when bubs decides to use your bladder as a trampoline

Sorry for the uncooperative OHs. I can sympathise. When it comes to DIY my DH has the motivation of a turd. But I did get him to move the bed in the spare room yesterday in preparation for decorating :j

I'm really lucky with my OH, he is far more motivated than me. He will decide to get something done, and it will be done, and is great at any jobs around the house :D
We would have started on the nursery already, but waiting to move house. He will paint it and I will help but the border or stickers or whatever up to decorate it

Our NHS Antenatal classes start today. 3 consectutive Mondays and I'm looking forward to it. Although I did read in the paper yesterday taht the Government are looking to scrap the free NHS classes :( Not everyone can afford to pay £200 for NCT ones.

I really hope this is just a rumour. Noway can we afford £200 odd for NCT classes. Bad enough they've done away with the HIP grant I was 2 weeks out on, that would SO have helped with baby stuff.

Thanks for the replies on the pregnancy book. I think I'll be getting 'The Pregnancy Bible', but have now found some awesome priced wipes and nappies on Amazon, so not sure whether to get them or the book this month. May leave the nappies/wipes for later as I still have a way to go yet, and they will just be one more thing to move. Just hope Amazon keep them at that price!

I was considering hiring a TENS machine, but not really looked into it. Certainly won't be buying one as can't afford it. Ho hum.
Will have to discuss it with the midwife, and they will probably touch upon it at Antenatal classes (if I can actually sort that out!)

Hope everyone is well, apart from the usual sores and aches. I got to bed at 2.40am, took couple of hours to drop off, then got up at 11.45am. Still in PJ's but going to go upstairs and get dressed now. The guinea pigs could do with going out. Fed up with lack of sleep, it ruins my day

Sorry not sure if I can help, is it just a stand exactly like a moses basket one? If so E bay? Think a couple of ladies were talking about them on here this morning.

My biggest news is that DH felt the bub kick on Saturday night! :T I was in bed yesterday morning with a cup of tea while I finished my book. The book was resting on my bump and she kicked so hard the book jumped.
    .

Aw that's so sweet, DH just felt my bubs kick a couple of weeks ago, it's quite a shy wee thing and will try and hide when you touch him/her. DD used to just kick me back whenever I gave her a prod LOL :D

Not sure if this has been mentioned but Amazon are having a baby bonanza event until February 6th. They're having different daily deals each day so the items on offer depend on the day. Here's a link if anyone is interested:

Woo for DH feeling bubs Garnet :) OH has felt ours a lot, but it is still special when he does. Impressed at yours moving the book - can you sign them up for football this early?!?

GB, brave isn't quite the word, I think it might be optimistic :D :rotfl::rotfl:

I dont think you can get an actual stand for the carrycot (except the buggy) maybe pop into a baby store and try the carrycot in a moses basket stand? It might be hard though as you'd want it to be stable.

I know my Chicco trio carrycot doesnt fit in. its too long.

Although I may be wrong about the stand. I had a look on the Quinny website and couldnt see one.
