Dusty this is the one I seen on Amazon a few weeks ago it looks pretty basic but hey as long as it does the job and it is the cheapest I have seen so far.

GB I have the same one, love it
I got the carrycot on ebay, and when I picked it up the lady had the same Sola, she was saying she'd found it fab, apparently even good in the snow (altho hopefully won't be snowing when either of us first use it).
Keep your eye on the M&P sales for jeans, I got 2 pairs for £10 each a while ago and they are sooo comfy
Been thinking about tens as well, we talked about them in ante natal class and I think the difference is that some have a digital display so you can see when you're using the boost and some don't. She did say you need one with a boost for labour tho, as you boost it when you have the contraction to stop the pain, but I don't think I'll be paying much attention to the display!!
Will have a look and see if I can get a reasonable priced one rather than hiring!0 -
Morning all, could have joined the insomnia club again last night, I'm just too lazy to get out of bed and get the laptop! Feeling knackered now, might have to have a pre-lunch snooze.
I bought an Elle Tens machine off ebay for about £30, obviously haven't used it yet so can't comment on how good they are! But hope to sell it back on ebay again after and recoup most of the cost.
My cat has just had a diarohea attack on the bedroom floor - yuck - is she trying to give me some poo wiping practice for when baby arrives???We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Before I went into labour with DD I said I wasn't going to use one but with all the hassle with failed inductions it was pretty much the only pain relief that I was offered and really worked and I used it right through labour. What I loved about it was the midwife showed DH how to use it so he was controlling it the whole time for me and boosting it with each contraction. It gave him a role too and he was amazing."That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0

Yeah tbh the Elle one appeals to me the most. Will just have to keep an eye out"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0

lol ema - I think I got the recommendation for the Sola from this thread and it may even have come from you?
I've tried quite a few out and liked the Sola best.
Not sure whether we are going to buy the carrycot attachment yet - just debating it with OH last night.
I understand they can sleep overnight in the cot so no need for a moses basket - however if you brought the carrycot secondhand did you have to buy a replacement mattress for it?
None of my other prams have had a carrycot attachment I jusy used the moses basket so unsure?0 -
Hngrymummy, with every post you make im expecting the next one to say im off to the hospital. :rotfl: it sounds if bubs is trying to scare you. Do you think youare in early labour or is it late stage soreness? I hope for your sake he hangs on in there but another new baby for us to coo over would be nice too
I loved having the tens machine, it was a weird sensation but I really think it helped. I was given it at the hospital to use both times though, so never rented or bought one. im tempted this time with hopefully being at home. Teenie if you want to go halfers, then ill drive up to you and pick it up for me to use 5 days later :rotfl::santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I quite liked my TENS although it didn't really take any pain away, just gave me a different sensation to focus on when the contractions kicked in.
And then I dropped it down the toilet while it was on and nearly killed myselfAfter that I couldn't use it obviously - and I didn't really miss it, but it was nice to have.
