GB, brave isn't quite the word, I think it might be optimistic :D :rotfl::rotfl:

I am planning on me and OH having a cheeky night away for my 30th birthday which is 6 weeks after my due date. I think it would be good for us at that time to have some 'alone' time. Mum is already booked to babysit. We are only planning on staying at a hotel in the city centre so not too far away. am I being optomistic? I feel by then i'll be so babyfied it'd be good to have some me/us time and remember who I was before I became a mother (that still doesn't sound right).
We prob won't book it til last minute anyway (cheaper rates) so will see how we are then.

Ema - I have accidentally pmd you too ;)

As for the 12-24 week thread, I don't really see a need. I'm at 21+1 now and seeing how many are behind me on the EDD list there are plenty around at the same stage. It can be busy though I know.

    .

I agree, there's no need for it. I found the advice from those much further on so beneficial to me when I first started on this thread.

I'm really lucky with my OH, he is far more motivated than me. He will decide to get something done, and it will be done, and is great at any jobs around the house :D
We would have started on the nursery already, but waiting to move house. He will paint it and I will help but the border or stickers or whatever up to decorate it

My OH is good when he puts his mind to it and will blitz a load of jobs in one day. Sadly those days don't come around often . At the minute he is obsessed with assembling the cot bed (currently in my mums loft) he doesn't realise it makes sense to actually get the walls painted, paper up, carpet cleaned etc first. He just wants the bl00dy cot up...I've told my mum to keep him at bay ;)

I really like it now and wasn't going to mention it but figured I don't want anyone to think i'm stealing their name lol. So... we've settled (I think!) on Jackson! Woo! Now i've got to tell the woman who is hand making the blanket that I want the name inscribing on it somewhere! :D (please don't let me change my mind lol!).

Labour vibes and appropriate hugs to all in need xx

    LOVE the name Jackson.!!!

I love the idea of surnames as first names, I wanted our first son to have my surname as a first name but OH has said a definite NO. :(
I think Zane Lowe (radio 1 DJ) has a son called Jackson.

ive been trying to apply for a job today. its only on a Sat in my local supermarket merchandising jewellery. Ive spent ages updating my CV and tried to email and it bounced back. I cant get hold of the girl and the closing date is tomorrow :(
I thought it would be ideal for after the baby comes for some extra money. Local jobs are hard to come by.

I love the name Jackson aswell but when I dropped my nephew off at playgroup there were four little Jacksons there. I really want to call my baby Jamieson if its a boy but thats want Pink wants to call her baby and dont want people to think Im copying her , lol. I went out for lunch with my sister this weekend and the first thing she said to me was " Typical eh? Posh spice trying to steal your thunder , she will be due around the same time as you " Lol. Yeah because me and Posh share so many friends , lol

Quick post from me. Wen to a party at the weekend, organised by my mum. A lot of people that i see quite regularly came and asked if i was pregnant! I'm 34 weeks today and have been huge for ages, i think people walk around with their eyes closed sometimes. Some were saying "are you sure your not having twins" and others were saying they thought my bump was small. One very rude perosn asked if i was planning on trying for a footbal team, then had the nerve to asked if he was planned. I should have told her straight-none of her damn business!!

Anyway, mondays seem to be my nesting day. I wake up thinking of stuff i want to get done-then go on a mission. Think i may have overdone it this morning as having painful braxton hicks, coupled with the baby having hiccups....but i do have a nice tidy backroom, with none of oh's boxes of cables and computer bits in My pushchair is all setup and ready along with the carseat. Wanted to move the piano into the corner of the room, but it was just too heavy ;-)

Charlie, i love that name, i had been thinking of it too, but i know oh would say no as my nephew is called Jacob, but gets called Jack.

Congrats to Jenapples, and come on you ladies in bold, lets have some more births :-)

One of my friends wee boy is called Jackson, he is adorable, I love it. No one really shortens it to Jack either.

Im really struggling with boys names. I really like James or Oliver. Elliot has crossed our minds too. I have loads picked out for a girl, but ive a feeling its a boy.
I was going to ask hngrymummy if she wouldnt mind telling me the colour she sees for the boys names :D

Who was it that did the prediction think was it Princess coupon? I need to look back and see what she said, i think it was a girl for me. Im curious to see if MV and Lillian and any others she predicted were right.

Phew lol! I wasn't sure if I was gonna get a load of replies which might put me off the idea lol! But I think i'm happy with it now! Our two chosen names were Alfie and Jackson. For ages hubby liked Alfie and I wasn't overly keen (I liked it but didn't LOVE it iykwim)! Always preferred Jackson. We decided we'd use my surname as a middle name (James) and then Hubby's as the surname. I won't out his surname on here lol but it goes quite nicely together. Bubs then has a choice of names - we'll probably shorten to 'Jacks' but he can always have 'Jack' 'Jacks' or 'JJ' (his middle name would give him the other J) or just Jackson. Hubby big on giving bubs options lol. Another thing off the to do list anyhow! :)

Oh... and I won't mind if anyone else wanted to use it lol. I'm not territorial over names or anything. Just conscious that some people might be and I can understand why. I just don't mind :)

LOVE the pics of Orlando with his son. You can see the love in his eyes. Pure look of love. So sweet!

I'm having James as my bub's middle name as its my Grandads name and my bro's middle name, so want to carry it on.
Elliot is lovely too, i also like Connor.

A couple of my friends have Jacob and Jackson, they seem to be getting more popular.

We are actually toying with Declan if it's a boy, really can't agree on anything else at the mo.

If it's a girl it will probably be Ava, DD has chosen it and that's what she goes on about "my little sister Ava"!
