Oooooh may have a look in Asda at sheets etc for crib as we don’t have any spares yet. Must admit when I looked last time they only appeared to have cot ones but maybe I missed them.
Have to admit I love Baby and bump, have made some really good friends through there. There can be some dramas on there and some really silly threads but I just choose not to read those.
Sorry that you feel that way Cutterby I know it is hard when the thread moves so hard but I have enjoyed having you around. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy *hugs*
I had a lovely suprise yesterday. It turns out that meeting our friend and her boyfriend was actually a decoy tactic by my DH.
We arrived at Revolutions bar and when we got there he told me that apparently the till had broken so our friends were upstairs. When we got up there waiting in the VIP room were about 25 of my female friends - he had spent the last 3 months organising me a secret
I had no idea so it was a total suprise, I burst into tears and couldn't believe how many people were there. We played some games and had some food platters, cocktails and mocktails for the other pregnant ladies there
DH's bosses girlfriend had made the most AMAZING Cake for us. It was a chocolate buttercream iced sponge. It had a seperate dome on the top which is also made of icing it had little stars cut out of it and round the outside it had all the jungle family characters which match the bedding and the moses basket we have brought for the baby around the edge and minature parrots (again all made of icing) scattered over the dome - she had taken them from the wall freeze which you can buy in Mothercare and hand cut them.
Inside the dome there was a little baby on a blanket and also a little camera as she knows I am into photography, again all made of icing.
She had then hand cut the words "Shaz and Dave and Baby C makes a Jungle Family" around the base of the cake in different colours.
The idea is the top dome can be kept and used as nightlight for the nursery as the icing will all keep. I've never seen anything like it before - the detail was just astounding and everyone was amazed with it.
We got so many lovely presents for both me and the baby. A friends mum had knitted a gorgeous blanket, another lady had hand made us a silk and cotton patchwork quilt. We had toilettries, clothes, bibs, blankets, toys - just so many things I was completely overwhelmed and all my friends joked that for the first time ever they saw me lost for words.
Hats off to all of them for managing to keep it a secret as I am quite on the ball usually. I blame my addled baby brain for my lack of detection
Anyway sorry for the massive post - was just such a lovely afternoon after thinking we had a very quiet weekend planned! One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -

WOW Shazza, that sounds lovely
Please do come back and tell us how you get on Cutterby, as we'll miss you.
Made up with DH last night when I went to bed. We're never cross for long, which is good.
Well, my cramps stopped at about 8am and I ended up on the loo with diawoowoo (sorry for tmi) and because I'm on iron suppliments, it was worse than 'normal' diawoo. (more tmi, sorry!!)
Went back to bad and snoozed for an hour while DH got up, and he came downstairs and did the hoovering, which was a lovely surprise to come down to.
I'll keep an eye on the cramps and see if they return at all. Hopefully they'll stay away for 2 more weeks. That should see the front bedroom wallpapered and its electrics finished.
DH's list of things to do around the house is: decorate front bedroom, hoovering
Mine is: whatever else needs doing that I can manage
Just been to Tesco and they have some kind of 'big name brands' sale on. So we got some baby shampoo, baby bath and baby lotion for a pound each and baby wipes for a pound a packet. Dunno if that's the cheapest, but it'll do us for now. They also had a sale on the jars of baby food. I think it was 10 HiPP for a fiver. I think there were nappies in the sale too. Might be worth a peek.
In terms of birthing balls, DH suggested using a space hopper. :rotfl: I laughed at first, but then thought about it - it's designed to be bounced on and not pop, and it's got handles to hold on to.
Sorry, long rambly post. I blame the baby brainIf having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0 -

Hi all just catching up on latest posts!
Can anyone let me know where we could buy a mattress for a cot? We managed to get one on Freecycle and just need the mattress now. Mind you I guess the cot won't be used for a while yet so probably no rush.
Is the best thing for a newborn a moses basket, where they would lie flat? Maybe we should make that more of a priority...:):)

FS That's absolutely fabulous, your very lucky.
Well at nearly 32 weeks I've hit another dragging period I think it drags in the beginning when you are desperate to get to your 12 week scan then the 20 week. Then 20-30 weeks passes quite quick. Now the birth seems closer and I'm willing the weeks away again it's so draaaaaaaaaaaaging.
Question fairly unimportant but are you ladies going to wear a bra for the actual birth? I've bought a Primark knee length nightie but can't remember if I wore a bra underneath when giving birth to DD. I don't want my nice new nursing bra covered in blood and stuff, but also don't want big sore boobs flopping about the delivery room.AKA: PC

Cot mattresses, mothercare, boots maybe, tesco, sainsburys...moses baskets are a lovely idea, neither of my children have approved of them, but then I only borrowed one and didn't invest...
bras - last labour I had on an underwired one and hardly removed any clothes at all until the last minute, just took my skirt off when it was getting in the way!!
