My waters broke in my bed. I just felt if happening and stood up. There was a river on the way to the loo.
But they didn't break with DS until pushing.
I guess you can't really be that ready for them im afraid.
Anyfloors and carpets can always be cleaned after so I wouldn't worry about it. Mine were just clear.
My only worry was my bed as of course you can't clean the mattress. I used pampers mattress pads and several towels. I'm so glad I did now.
If your really worried about it happening outside you could always carry spare clothes. But to be honest you'll probably be so excited you won't care.
The cramp thing may be harder for you to detect, if your used to having cramps. I've a feeling you will definently know though. The frequency then getting slowly stronger will ring alarm bells.
Not sure if any of that helps. In the last few days I dont think I really left the house as I was too tired and uncomfy.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Maybe keep a towel in the car to sit on? It will soak most of the flow before it gets to the car seats lol.0 -
Thanks ladies
TBH that was what I had thought but you know when you get something in your head and it doesn't matter how much you rationalise it still doesn't seem answered until you ask the question lolThe pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110 -
Wondering whether to put the single bed on Freecycle as that is where the cot will need to go or to keep it until baby is born just in case one of us needs a good night's sleep as baby will obviously be in our room for the first few months?
Is there room for both? If so, keep it, in case babe is ill and you want to sleep in there to keep an eye, also somewhere comfy to sit while b/f at night, or bottle feeding for that matter.Rockinbikergal wrote: »OK ladies I have a question....I know I am only 34 +2 but D day is fast approaching and my one fear is that my waters break somewhere that I am not prepared for lol.....my hubby made a point earlier for example and that is that he sees me ignoring any cramps as I am so used to stomach cramps with underlying bowel condition and I suffer from those and diawoowoo quite regularly (sorry if TMI) and he can imagine my waters breaking in say our living room which has a lovely cream carpet......I have some of those lovely little boots protectors which I will start using on the bed and in the car but seriously what the heck do you do when they go unexpectedlysorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I went for my nap this afternoon and because he had brought this into my head I didn't really doze at all lol
They don't always gush...and with my last I have no idea when they went, since I was so stuck into the G and A I didn't notice:rotfl:Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Apricot - just went on ebay on the pretense of looking for moses baskets, ended up buying a cute Winnie the Pooh set for just under £5 inc postage... doh! Hubby loves it too so we couldn't resist. I know what you mean about space, we have a spare room but need to decorate, move stuff out etc, next project... And same re; selling stuff on ebay, I have a bunch of Clarins / Lancome / Origins bits I was given for Christmas but don't need or don't suit my skin, so planning to put them up on ebay later.Re: single bed, we have the same situation except it's a double mattress but we keep it leaning up against the wall and will keep it for now as guests may want it before baby arrives. I guess you might either keep it, or buy one of those foldable single beds that saves a bit of room? We have one of these just in case and it was about £20 locally.
Thanks Nic for the vouchers idea - my mum has already been asking about what we will need, so we mentioned car seat, pram and moses basket, and will now mention vouchers re: cot mattres too, though I guess there's not so much of a rush on that as baby will prob be in bed with us or in moses basket for a while I imagine. Is a carry cot the same thing as a moses basket?:):)

GFH no room really as it's only a small box bedroom and my wardrobe is in there too! If I could find a way to get my wardrobe into my bedroom then it would probably fit...hmm Im going to need a lot of space saving ideas I think as don't think we are going to be able to move before bubs is born and we are in a lovely location really - it's just space that's a problem!
Lol sparkle you have tempted me to have a nosey on ebay now and see if there are any cute baby things. I haven't really bought anything yet apart from nappies in the asda baby event but I will be having a lot of stuff given to me by my sister so I don't want to end up with piles of stuff when Im already pushed for room.
Can't wait to find out what we are having - will make it a lot easier to plan things then. If I have a boy I will need to buy more than if I have a girl as my sis has lots of pink things!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

Hehe, I saw this and literally went 'oh snap!'. I told the sonographer it looked like an alien and he just said 'ah yes the old alien remark. It does look a little extra terrestrial doesn't it?'.
Then when I told my best friend I was expecting what appeared to be an alien she had a panic and said if I called it an alien it was going to look like Paul. I was really confused as I don't know any Pauls. Turns out she was talking about a new movie about an alien called Paul. At which point, I realised she was even more off her rocker than myself and decided to ignore her. OH calls it Flump as he thinks it's going to be chubby and look like a marshmallow.

Pink Lining Changing bags...
Has anyone bought one? I love the look of this one...

Does anyone know if they are as good in reality as they look in the picture? Is the big strap long enough to go over both the handle bars of a push chair/pram? I'm trying to find a local stockist so I can see one but at the moment I've just got the picture to go by. Many thanks0 -
Hi everyone  tired, tired, tired. That's it I'm afraid will catch up if/when I wake up a bit

:rotfl: I was quite surprised when I found I was preggers so calling him the alien at that time seemed very appropriate hehe even now he gets called the alien when he is being active and making my belly do strange things lolThe pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110
