hngrymummy wrote: »DP - regarding classes, depends what you want to know. I found the first class really good as they went through the mechanics of what your body does to give birth. It made it actually seem possible! Today was pain relief, which was also helpful.
Can't remember who asked about birthing balls. I got a gym ball from Tesco for £3.33. Got it to try out as I thought if I didn't like it it's not too expensive. I love it
Well, the antenatal class was fun today. We went through pain relief. I knew it'd be interesting due to my needle phobia, but thought I'd listen to what was said about epidurals. As the discussion got going I started with the tears, which I knew would lead to hysterics. I had to leave the room till they'd finishedWell, at least I know now that an epidural is definitely not for me!
Just fell out with DHHe wants to spend some time doing housework over the weekend. Trouble is, he always wants to do the housework that I can do (because he wants to help me) rather than the things I can't, and he's supposed to be filling the holes in the wall in the bedroom so we can carry on decorating. I know he's trying to help, I just get frustrated when I find that there's nothing for me to do and he's not done the things that I can't do. I know he means well, so I'll go find him in a bit and make up (he's gone to bed).
I have a family history of diabetes and they never offered me a GTT (phew!)
Thanks hun. I think I'll try and go to all the NHS classes once I've found out about them. Then read as much as I can to prepare myself. Watching OBEM is quite useful as well, though every pregnancy is different so can only digest so much relevant info I guess.
I'll have a look into the gym balls as they are much cheaper, thanks.
Hope you make up with DH soon, I'm sure he was only trying to be helpful. Hate the pregnancy hormones :mad:Rockinbikergal wrote: »Night Sharkey.....sending sleep vibes to you and GFH hehe
DP I wasn't even offered a GTT so I take it that I am fine even though I was overweight when I got PG
Cool, I'll presume I don't need one then. Was silly and worrying as I ate so much chocolate over Xmas, but no other signs anything is wrong. I am worried about having a big baby as I was 8lb and OH 10lb, and we're both tall. Bubs is bound to be tall as well.sharkeybabe wrote: »Morning! Well I got just over 6 hours sleep, which isnt bad considering. Now just need to hang around until Morrison's opens at 8am and I will go and get my shopping, then might have time for a wee nap later on this morning.lol. Mr Sharkey is now on the plane hopefully and from what I can see his flight is going to get to London a bit earlier than scheduled which is good as he always dilly dallys around and I had visions of him missing his flight to Glasgow.lol.
Checked my lotto ticket from last night and I won a £10 so will treat myself to breakfast at the cafe before I start my shopping.lol. Sorry RBG that you were still up in the wee small hours.
Coops - hope he rest of your shift goes ok.
xx
Well done you! Brekkie sounds fab. I hope you have a lovely time with OH once his flight gets inSpend some quality time together
I should have joined the insomniacs club last night/early morning. Went to bed at 10.30pm, REEEALLLY tired, though took about 2 hours to fall asleep. Then kept getting up for a wee. Really starting to annoy me, as I usually need 8-9 hours otherwise I'm like a bear with a sore head. I know it will be worse when bubs arrives, and will try and sleep when he does, but knowing me I'll be worrying so much it will take ages to drop off, I'll get half an hour then he'll wake again.
Think I was going to reply to someone else, but as usual have forgotten. Oh, just to say that I also love this thread. Was a bit scary the transition between less than 12 weeks and here, and the thread does move quickly, but everyone is fab and you learn so much from others who are further along than you :T0 -

Hiya Doglover and welcome overEWCM will be common right through the pregnancy possibly, I have had it and I know some of the other ladies have, it's really nothing to worry about unless it turns yellow or any other colour and smells (sorry if TMI for some of you lol)
Well I managed to get back to sleep at about 6.30 and am not long awake...the drunken skunk is still out for the count upstairs and I won't be waking him anytime soon so that he can sleep it off lol
