Struggling atm, v depressed and tearful. Not really coping at work. I'm hoping a bit of rest over the weekend will help.

Can someone help re pillows? My hip and back have started to hurt at night and currently sticking the duvet between my legs helps me drop back off. Is there a good cheap pillow anyone would recommend, do I need one if I'm planning to bf and will I be able reuse it for that?
19 weeks today. Feels a bit early to have to worry about it - but my lower back is telling me otherwise!

I use Aptamil for Lily but its almost £10 a pack now. This baby was going to have c&g, but because im now entitled to milk vouchers during pregnancy im going to stock up in advance :)

How come you get milk tokens? Are you not entitled to WTC?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Hi everyone, after my flying visit to the thread last night, I am back for a proper introduction!

I'm Honeypop and baby is due 15th Feb. Got an 18 month old DS who is an absolute treasure and excited for the arrival of baby.

Had a smooth pregnancy with DS, slight SPD but manageable as I am used to back pain anyway, induced at 11 days overdue, then had EMCS after failed forceps delivery, then a tough recovery from the section (won't go into details unless anyone wants to know!). This pregnancy has been harder, I'm tired all the time, almost constantly in tears (prob from being tired), various aches and pains etc, but then I do have an 18mo to look after this time round!

Was offered an elective CS or labour trial/VBAC and after much to-ing and fro-ing have decided on a labour trial and see how it goes.

    Well that's me... hello!

Feel like I can really relate to pretty much every question asked on this thread as I went through it all fairly recently and it's still all fresh in my mind from first time round.

Quick question for those of you who've bought pants / nighties for after the birth, how did you know what size to get? I am going to have a look in Pradamark today, but at 29 weeks I just have no idea (and can't picture) what I'll be like at 40!!
Go for a size bigger than usual, I am usually a 14 so got the pack of 'Full Briefs' in a 16-18 from Primark. They were a godsend last time, and I have 2 packs for this time. Ideal to just chuck if they get too messy but they actually wash well if you keep them.
For other clothes, I remember from my ante-natal classes last time, we were told to note what was comfy at around 6 months pregnant, and that's probably what you will be wearing for the first few weeks after the birth as you will be a similar size to that. Obviously some people shrink back to normal size very quickly but that's a rough guide.

just a quick question for all those who are or going to bottle feed, ive been told most hospitals dont supply baby milk anymore and you have to take your own in??? 8 years ago with my son it was all supplied in the little glass bottles. they are trying to encourage people to breast feed.
It really depends on the hospital. At 10pm on my 1st night on the ward after the section, baby still hadn't breastfed (12 hours old) and was desperate and they really moaned and made a fuss about having to supply a little bottle of SMA from the SCBU. They said DH should bring formula in, although visiting hours were 12 hours away! This time round I have got the pack linked to by Lotty, as an emergency back up only. They are expensive for what you get, but in contrast to using a ready to drink carton of formula and a pre-packed sterilised bottle & teat, or even making it all up yourself, I would still pay the extra and go for ease of use every time in those very early days - especially if baby doesn't take to it and then you didn't waste much time and effort getting milk ready for them.

Knew there was another post I quoted but it went missing...
2nd DD - concieved when DS was 9 months old (oops! - you are supposed to wait around 24 months between babies if you have had a section) - consultant advised another elective section due to the fear of rupture of the womb

After having DS by CS, we always made it clear to the HV, midwives and our GP that we intended to TTC when DS was around 12 months as I wondered if there was a certain time we should wait, and was never told to wait longer, it was never mentioned that there was a suggested timeframe - I wonder if the advice is another thing that depends on the trust so lots of people get differing advice?

Perdi sweets I use this one and will use it after the birth then as a support pillow for bubs feeding......I don't know that you will get it any cheaper anywhere else but you can get them in places other than Dunelm....there are also huge ones for preggers women on mothercare etc but they are quite expensive xxxx
