My SIL told me not to wear maternity stuff too soon (i.e when you have tiny bump like me ) because she said you soon get of the sight of the same work clothes over and over. Anyhoo hope everyone is okay today ,Labour vibes to MV (once youve had a good nap tho)

I bought loads of cheapo mat stuff from ASOS when I first found out I was PG. Now all the nice dresses won't stretch over my b o o b s (tears this morning). Now i have to get some nice stretchy stuff instead.

    Hi everyone

Apologies - I've jumped the queue massively...waters broke at 1am this morning and was told to come in, was monitored and checked over and everything's fine but I;m not dilated yet so was sent home to wait for my contractions to get closer together, which they now have done, so I'm going to set off again soon. Eek - wish me luck! And sorry MV - hope things get going for you today xx

ETA - I'm being induced at 10pm if nothing happens before then!

:j:j exciting news - are you at St Mary's???? they are FAB there...good luck Lillian....xx

I've recorded OBEM to watch without OH, he really doesn't want to see!! I'm intrigued about the screaming, I think I have to watch now. I hope I don't do that or cry, think that would make it much harder for OH to cope :o Annie, I watched the Christmas ones on watch again, can't remember what channel though but sure you'll be able to get it on t'internet!

First antenatal class tonight :D I'm quite excited but also a bit nervous!! Hope the people there are nice, I'm hoping that I can make friends. Found out my best friend (I have many best friends but she is one of the closest) is pg over Christmas and am so delighted, she's not due 'till August but at least we can be on maternity for some time together :) So only need friends between April and August :rotfl::rotfl:

Our house rennovation is moving along again now as well, think we actually have a chance of being finished by March :beer: (less beer more bubbly :) ) Since we have gone from bare brick to painted walls in all rooms but the living room it does all seem to be a lot closer - still quite a bit to do but I think we can manage it!! Going to get one of those big wall calendars today and fill it out with a project plan :D

I am also worried about weight gain. I am at the top end of the link (sorry can't remember who posted it but v helpful), I know I've been scoffing far too much before and over Christmas so just trying to get into better eating habbits again now. I used to do loads of exercise, but have stopped some due to pregnancy (Roller Derby not safe for bubs unfortunately) and a lot of the rest has tailed off due to concentrating on the house :( so now I'm trying to at least get out for a good walk during my lunch breaks and just do anything that I can fit in.

Sorry that was rather self indulgent :p feel free to ignore me!!

My OH has no intention of watching them either twinny. I've just about manged to get him to read a chapter of a book on the different stages of labour, not sure how much went it though. :o

wonders never cease......my best friend is PG too, due in June so we have lots of trips to organise together. We are both being god parents to each others off springs too :)

Good luck at your class tonight, let me know how you get on..x

mv, my waters broke in bed at 2am. Have you got a waterproof sheet under your normal bedding to save your mattress?
Also a towel or mattress pad for the car journey?
Some of us gush while others trickle.:p

Ignore me if you've already discussed this-haven't been on in a while.:o

    Hiya Legs

You know what, I haven't made any provision for my poor mattress! I thought about it at the w/e but haven't done anything about it.

I'll maybe start sleeping on a few towels as I don't want to wreck my bed :rotfl:

How are you doing? Hoe's that gorgeous bubs of yours??
Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,

i feel huge and tired today..but on a good side ive ordered my pushchair from mothercare , ive ordered the silver cross jet sport. anyone else bought that one?
  • Hiya Ladies - sorry have been MIA for a while. I have been lurking but have not felt I had much of anything to contribute...

I am going to be queue jumping too - I had another growth scan yesterday and the baby has turned breech - which was a real shock to me because I had had a scan 3 weeks previously and it was the right way then! It is fine really - because we had been having such a dilemma about the delivery any way -at least the baby has taken the decision for me. So an elective section for me on 24th Jan. It is still looking like a large baby and it measuring on the 95th centile for abdomen and head measurements so I am sure it is the right thing - I just need to get my head around it.

Good luck Lillian - hope all progresses well and quickly for you - I was induced by drip with my first after my waters broke and I had no contractions and I found it not bad at all.

MV - hope something happens soon for you so that you get the birth you want.

Any of you ladies out there who have had sections previously got any tips for me? am going to go and get some Arnica but anything else i should be thinking about?

The fact the baby can do a 180 degree turn at this late stage suggests baby might not be that huge after all.
DD was headdown then at 38 weeks ish went breech I was booked for a C-sec the following week, I got as far as a gown and signed consent forms when they discovered the little so and so had turned again! so my section was cancelled and I was sent home babyless :(. Was finally delivered naturally at 42+1 weighing 5.5lb, which explained how she could summersault.

So midwife has told me to drink an ice cold sugary drink tonight and relax for 30min.
If that doesnt wake her she will nip round in the morning to listen to heartbeat.

I knew about the drink thing just not the sugar lol. Embarassingly drinking ice cold caffeine free coke to find today it says sugar free LOL.

She did confirm not really to worry and would expect proper movements until 26ish weeks.

What can i say i worry my miracle will end every day. Silly woman.

Hi Lotty - I bought it. It was the first pram that I had seen and I knew instantly that I wanted it. Was lucky as well as the car seat came free with it after Xmas.:j It took 2 days to be delivered and is very easy to assemble and I just love it, cant wait until i can get bubba in it and take it for a spin.lol.

  • MV - i agree with Ladylegs about the mattress protection. Get those bed mats, even the pampers ones would do ;) I heard 'pop' and mine went 4am in the morn too...no idea beforehand, no contractions or anything so very lucky i had one to hand and one under the bedsheet too.

Don't worry too much about going over. I went over by a week with no signs and i got really fed up and put it in my head i was going to be doomed to a section (i'm the size of a 12yr old so big baby and me, well i thought that meant there is no way he'd get out) but i had him naturally....and that birth was a VBAC too. You have two weeks before they need to interviene, might seem like it won't happen but i'm pretty sure things will kick off naturally for you within that time. x

Me too, with 3 miscarriages & years ttc I can't help but worry. I hope the drink works & you are able to have a relaxed evening as a result :)

You are bound to worry hun. It has certainly been a long road for you. I tell you what makes my bubs go crackers? Lucozade! And there have been days that i've regretted drinking it due to the action after lol but working long hours means getting through any which way I can.

Put some lucozade in the fridge/freezer for an hour and have some of that. Then lie down and do a 360 slowly half an hour later. That should kick bubs off!

Telling you not to worry after all you have been through to get through to this stage is ridiculous though lol. At least you know she's only thinking of you and bubs.

I'm not going to tell you not to worry. I'm going to tell you to get some lucozade and chocolate and scoff! C Food Therapy! Bliss! :D

Alamaya, it's totally understandable to be worried, don't feel silly. Babies are amazing though, they are so much tougher than we think, so keep reminding yourself that everything is probably fine, whether you're worried or not :grouphug:
