If i'm totally honest i think the other women are pretty much how it is...the screamer (poor woman) is VERY vocal about it - she's even screamig after the epidural which confuses me as i couldn't feel a thing once mine was put in. I was loud, but i keep asking hubby if i was that bad and he keeps telling me no, lol. (Thank god for that, hahaha!)
I was also confused about the screaming after the epi. I thought you couldn't feel anything? Also why did she want gas and air after having the epidural?

Although she said the screaming helped her, I can't think that it didn't really help. Surely all her energies were in the screaming, she can't have been relaxed and breathing properly and common sense tells me this would make the pain worse.

  • OBEM - Hysterical!!!! - Annibee it will be on 4OD if you want to watch it!
I had a screamer in the opposite room to me whilst I had DD and it went on for hours!!
I really felt for that young couple, bless them.

Nic – I hadn’t seen any either up to now and hasn’t scared me. I think in my mind I’m ready for it now, but that might change a few times over the next couple of weeks.

Nesting has well and truly kicked in here, I've almost cleaned the house from top to bottom just a couple of nooks and crannies to do, I've also got a lot of other bits done and the freezers are full - if bubs wants to come now I'm more than ready for him!
His majesty is being quiet today but he loves his morning lie ins, it's the evenings/nights he likes to party!!
I’ve had some really painful shooting pains through my noo-noo but I have no idea what they are, I imagine that it’s because he has his head down now. It’s worse when he moves actually.
I must do my birth plan sometime today too, I just need to get my head together to put pen to paper.
    Welcome all newbies.
Sending labour vibes to MV and Lilian!! Wow, that is some cue jumping, good luck hun!

    Hi everyone

Apologies - I've jumped the queue massively...waters broke at 1am this morning and was told to come in, was monitored and checked over and everything's fine but I;m not dilated yet so was sent home to wait for my contractions to get closer together, which they now have done, so I'm going to set off again soon. Eek - wish me luck! And sorry MV - hope things get going for you today xx

ETA - I'm being induced at 10pm if nothing happens before then!
    OMG

    Good luck Lilian :A

To those of you asking about freebies...

In one of the bounty packs there was a HiPP booklet and it had a code for the comforter. I'm not sure you get the comforter without the code from signing up. http://www.hippbabyclub.co.uk/Register-with-Hipp-Baby-Club/ You can see there's a box for the promotional code on the form.

The bumgenius nappy was pay £3.95 p&p for a nappy worth about £11. But I'm not sure the voucher is in the latest bounty book.

ema - Im very jealous our house rennnovation is not working at all and we have a demolished kitchen that will never get fixed!! our bathroom is coming along a tiny bit at a time but it still looks carp at the moment.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

  • Good luck Lilian! Hope you get your mummy cuddles soon.
 Mummy to an amazing little girl
  • Hiya Ladies - sorry have been MIA for a while. I have been lurking but have not felt I had much of anything to contribute...

I am going to be queue jumping too - I had another growth scan yesterday and the baby has turned breech - which was a real shock to me because I had had a scan 3 weeks previously and it was the right way then! It is fine really - because we had been having such a dilemma about the delivery any way -at least the baby has taken the decision for me. So an elective section for me on 24th Jan. It is still looking like a large baby and it measuring on the 95th centile for abdomen and head measurements so I am sure it is the right thing - I just need to get my head around it.

Good luck Lillian - hope all progresses well and quickly for you - I was induced by drip with my first after my waters broke and I had no contractions and I found it not bad at all.

MV - hope something happens soon for you so that you get the birth you want.

Any of you ladies out there who have had sections previously got any tips for me? am going to go and get some Arnica but anything else i should be thinking about?

Good luck Lillian! How exciting :D
MV- you've got plenty of time yet for him to get moving by himself, you may well get your lovely birth centre birth yet, don't they generally let you go 14 days over before evicting?
2Girls - naughty baby! Still, in a way it must be nice to know when to expect things :)

Lol...no you really can't feel anything much after so i think she was screaming for fun. They told me they were going to cut me and i braced myself for some serious pain and shoved a pillow over my face to bite on....waiting...nothing....they'd done it already and you really can't feel a thing. They laughed at me, lol. And you have a button to up it if you need too say prior to crowning or a snip but you really dont need it. You can still feel when you need to push but thats about it! Wonderous thing lol....i was smiling and joking away with the doctors and hubby through the actual birth...i was shattered as it had been a long 22hrs of labour but nope no pain after that epi.
