I am going to be queue jumping too - I had another growth scan yesterday and the baby has turned breech - which was a real shock to me because I had had a scan 3 weeks previously and it was the right way then! It is fine really - because we had been having such a dilemma about the delivery any way -at least the baby has taken the decision for me. So an elective section for me on 24th Jan. It is still looking like a large baby and it measuring on the 95th centile for abdomen and head measurements so I am sure it is the right thing - I just need to get my head around it.
Good luck Lillian - hope all progresses well and quickly for you - I was induced by drip with my first after my waters broke and I had no contractions and I found it not bad at all.
MV - hope something happens soon for you so that you get the birth you want.
Any of you ladies out there who have had sections previously got any tips for me? am going to go and get some Arnica but anything else i should be thinking about?
I didn't use anything on my C Section scar. It healed really well and had no problems. I think salt water was the only thing recommended back then and I barely used that though lol.
I would suggest you have plenty of support around for the first couple of weeks. Things like bending and lifting can be quite tough. You're not supposed to drive either which is a major bug bear for me but i'm hoping to be up and mobile and pretty self sufficient within a couple of weeks this time.
Oooo good luck Lilian! And labour vibes to MV. We need baby pics!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -

Oh, and don't rush your recovery. V important.
PS, I laboured very quietly - lots of ommmmss and ooooohs like I was enjoying an M & S pudding:) But if only it was that pleasurable!!!!0 -
I did get disposable knickers! I've got to say... my mum bought them me and they were HUGE and I laughed so so hard when she turned up with them. I've got to say though... with the amount of blood I lost afterwards I was glad she did buy me them! They are hardly sexy lol but for straight after the C Section (or birth too I suppose) having undies that I can just chuck in the bin rather than worry about having to worry about washing them was a godsend! And they were massive so didn't go near the C Section line. You just made me remember them ladylegs! Glad as they aren't on my shopping list and should be!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110

I screamed when I had DS. Not all the time as I used gas & air & then you are quiet. I was obviously quiet between contractions & then spent the whole time apologising! DS was back to back, they tried 2 epidurals, both failed. I had to be on the bed, on my back so they could monitor DS all the time, any other position & they lost him. It is the most painful way to be with a back to back baby but I was told I had no choice. So yes, it hurt like hell, no pain relief worked & I screamed for England. It was truly horrible & as a result I'd never judge others for how they cope with labour. I do find it odd still screaming if you are pain free thanks to an epidural though.
Just so no one panics, I have a pre existing condition that made an epidural working a very long shot so whilst they did try twice it came as no surprise that it didn't work, we knew before I went in to labour it was unlikely to work for me. This time I wont even try one as I know it's a waste of time & resources. I'm just hoping I don't have another back to back baby that also needs monitoring 24/7!0 -
I hope so chakani..I've kind of built myself up to the Birthing Centre now.
I just hope it all kicks off itself sometime this week. I don't really want it to go too far over, I've scared myself reading some stories (step away from Google!)Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -

Ok, so just went and watched the OBEM from last night, anyone else incredibly jealous of the lady who is going to be on next weeks show? She looks better in a bikini at 40 weeks PG than i do now:( (goes off to sulk and eat grapes)0

mv, my waters broke in bed at 2am. Have you got a waterproof sheet under your normal bedding to save your mattress?
Also a towel or mattress pad for the car journey?
Some of us gush while others trickle.:p
Ignore me if you've already discussed this-haven't been on in a while.:o0 -
Morning ladies, just back from the cervix scan which I didn't end up having. The consultant said it was too late to have a cervix scan, I should have it at 16 weeks if I’m to have it but the fact that I'm at 28 weeks with no probs means it is all ok. He had a look with the speculum anyway and says it all looks fine.
He did ask if I wanted a growth scan to put my mind at ease which of course I wasn’t going to refuse and so I’m booked in for a growth scan at next Tuesday.
All the appts overran so I had to cancel my 28wk check with the community midwife and they did all the bloods etc there.
I'm so glad I don't have to have a stitch. And I get to see bubs again next week....:)0
