    Hello ladies

Just wanted to respond to whoever was worried about all the emergency c sections. I'd been doing hypno birthing, and had a tens machine so was hoping to put both into practice and have a natural-ish birth. Unfortunately bubs had other ideas. After being induced, Kai's heart rate dropped from 140 something to 40 something  for more than 3mins a few times, hence the emergency c section but it was actually ok. All the midwives etc were lovely and tried to keep calm which kept me calm. The only time I did initially panic was when I thought they were going to do it there and then, and my partner was asleep at home, but luckily he managed to get there in time. Obviously I would have preferred not to have had it that way, as the recovery is longer, but i was up walking around in less than 24hrs so its not as bad or as scary as you imagine. In a strange way I found it quite interesting having the epidural and feeling the baby being pulled out but not experiencing the pain, and they still placed him straight on my chest for over half hour cuddles and I managed to breastfeed within the hour so all good really.
Sorry ended up being a mini birth story - just wanted to reassure some first timers if they were worried

    Thank you for this honey.

I am terrified not of the section but the aftermath and coping with baby whilst recovering from major surgery.

Thank you so much for sharing x
If you can think it........it will happen

wow, thanks for all the money tips, obviously I'll be trying to do thngs the cheapest way possible but even then I was clueless. Thanks for all the advice and it's good to hear I'm not the only one worrying about money. Good to see that a tenner should cover it, I'll have to resist all the cute clothes that I just 'have to have' :o

I've just been on the entitledto website which is great, there's money details though which I need to ask OH about so didn't get to teh end. I don't understand fully the different things, what I can gather I should be looking at

    HIP grant
    working tax credits
    child tax credits
    child trust fund

    am I missing anything else?

ASH - i'll join the mat leave thread too, let us know where and when.

Purple - I too have an over enthusiastic mother, thankfully she's really helped us out money wise, she is buying a lot of the simple things like nappies etc that I forget about. i have a feeling every sleepsuit, baby gro etc will be from ASDA thanks to her :p. Wouldn't have her any other way though.

HELLO ROCKINBIKERGIRL - I was thinking about you last night and how we haven't heard from you for a while, hope you are ok, big news...I'm not Mrs Doom anymore, i've seen the light, well until I find something else to worry about. Come join me :D

I've got a few vouchers from joining the sainsburys club so happy to hear that the baby event start tomorrow, I'll get stocked up.

Hehe thankies Dusty am on the up just had a bad appt at the Drs this morning to get my HIPP grant and MATB1 form to be told I couldn't have them as the locum Dr didn't have my usual Drs full details to fill in the forms grrrrrr am doing much better although it was quite disconcerting when I walked in to the Drs surgery and said I was 24 weeks and she looked at me as if I was mad.....I'm sooooooo tiny but tbh if I had a huge bump I would be totally top heavy lmao (((((hugs)))))
