  • I did think I could get away with it if baby was asleep but what if they woke up and starting yelling mid shower? I think I'm just going to adopt the dirty/slummy lifestyle.

Interesting about Gaviscon and the license - I remember reading how Gaviscon changed the name/formula of their main 'stuff' so that the NHS couldn't buy a generic version of it when their license to provide it exclusively ran out. Or something. The true story is here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/feb/23/gaviscon-prescriptions-office-of-fair-trading

You girls are going to hate me but I've not had heartburn once whilst being pregnant

Giz, have you thought about Soapnuts?

They might be ideal for the less stained baby clothes, especially if you're getting essential oils anyway. I've bought a big bag but also invested in a massive box of Fairy non-bio when it was on offer.

Never heard of them! Hmmmm, I'm a little skeptical about these things. Have you tried using your yet?

  • Hello ladies

Just wanted to respond to whoever was worried about all the emergency c sections. I'd been doing hypno birthing, and had a tens machine so was hoping to put both into practice and have a natural-ish birth. Unfortunately bubs had other ideas. After being induced, Kai's heart rate dropped from 140 something to 40 something  for more than 3mins a few times, hence the emergency c section but it was actually ok. All the midwives etc were lovely and tried to keep calm which kept me calm. The only time I did initially panic was when I thought they were going to do it there and then, and my partner was asleep at home, but luckily he managed to get there in time. Obviously I would have preferred not to have had it that way, as the recovery is longer, but i was up walking around in less than 24hrs so its not as bad or as scary as you imagine. In a strange way I found it quite interesting having the epidural and feeling the baby being pulled out but not experiencing the pain, and they still placed him straight on my chest for over half hour cuddles and I managed to breastfeed within the hour so all good really.
Sorry ended up being a mini birth story - just wanted to reassure some first timers if they were worried

If they start yelling then they'll not hurt for 5 mins while you finish up what youre doing

@lilian - I've requested a sample for 75p :) The testimonials seem to be good.

Thanks, this does put my mind at rest a bit. I know we all want the births we want and sometimes it's just not going to happen, it just feels like hardly anyone lately is getting the birth they want.

  • I have 15 reusable nappies these ones but in yellow and cellular liners. I used them for a month but OH only wanted to use disposables so I gave up as I felt there was no point just one of us doing it....and I didnt want to give OH an excuse to not change nappies lol. I know ebay have stopped people [STRIKE]getting rid of[/STRIKE] selling nappies on there even if they have been high heat washed. Is there anywhere else any other sites I can sell/offload them?
