Yes it's a natural thing, it doesn't mean it comes naturally to everyone, or to every baby

Yeh thats pretty much good solid positive advice because it does feel deflating the first few times if you cant get the baby to latch you feel like your failing at the most natural thing ever which is an awful feeling...but Krystal is right it does get better and it is more convenient and cost effective ;)
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Thanks Krystal, I am worrying a bit about breastfeeding, I keep having nightmares about it so must be on my mind. My best friend is still doing it with her little one, and she has given me lots of advice, I've told her I may need to call her for help. Great idea about finding a group early tho.

Hope everyone's well. Had a long day, just off for a soak in the bath then bed (who was it mentioned being worried about cooking the baby, I worried about that for a while but I get so much relief from a nice hot bath, just don't fill it so full so at least part of the bump is out of the water!)

I was really disappointed with mine this time as i got loads more samples and vouchers when i was last pregnant.

You get some vouchers (really not much) a trial size of wipes, 1 pampers nappy (generous!) and a can of appletise. There was the DVD on b/f'ing and other leaflets. Oh and a mini dettol spray bottle.

In the small thick magazine there is a voucher for a free pack of size 1 Huggies from Tesco.

Had my growth scan on Friday and baby is small again (DD was born 5.5lb at 42+1).
Most measurements are down: abdomen, leg length, and something else, head was average, current estimated weight at 29+1 is just under 2lb should be 2.5lb :(
Just aswell I've still got all the low birth weight clothes and they're neutral, a 5.5lb baby really does drown in a newborn sleepsuit that's meant for a 8-9lb baby.
I'm assuming I'll be induced just before my due date as I know they don't like to leave little ones in too long, does anyone have experience of this? DD wasn't spotted pre-birth as small.

Thanks to whoever mention nursing bras at Matalan I got 3 at £1.50 and 1 at £3 today.

Teenie - I think I've found it on the internet, let me know if its the same one if not I would love to have your copy :)

    !

Yeah that's it. :) There is was bits I found that weren't that relevant but it was nice to see.

Well that was the worst nights sleep I've had in ages :( Despite my early night, I never got to sleep until about 11.30pm have been awake since 3.30 and am working in just under an hour. It's psychological I'm sure as I never sleep well on a Saturday night I think it's because I know I need to ge up so early for work on Sunday.
I never feel well after doing this job either, i think it's the combination of the early start and not getting a break until 11.30am (FAR too long to go without a break but the nature of the job unfortunately) and being stuck in a windowless room for 8 hours. Not sure how much notice I realistically need to give to start ML but they are only going to get 7 or 8 weeks from me, depending on when the MW actually sends out my matb1! If they get @rsey about it I'll just hand in my notice, I wont be getting maternity pay from it anyway.

Well gripe over just need to get on with it for the next few weeks. Have a lovely day ladies and I'll catch up later. xx

  • morning teenie.....

just think not much longer left in the Sunday job......guess who is back to not sleeping though :( really thought I had hit a turning point but now think it was lulling me into a false sense of security so am now sitting here reading articles on netmums and playing with my lizards lol.....have a good day and catch u later xxxxxx

Sorry that was me who's worried about cooking the baby lol. I was told in my first pregnancy not to have a very hot bath or stay in for too long as the amniotic fluid gets too hot. It always stuck in my head. I prefer showers anyway but do like the odd bath. Like you ema I just fill it enough so my bump isn't in the water. I only stay in for 10 minutes too. I don't make them as hot as I'd like. I love my water scalding, so it's just not the same.

    I'm probably just being silly.

    Morning ladies,

Didn't realise there was an insomnia gathering  , I would have joined it at 2.00am :(.

Princess Coupon - My DD was 5lb12 at birth (3 days overdue), they predicted her to be about 7lb!! I don't know anything about been induced because of low birth weights, sorry. :o But try not to worry about it, I assume your DD was fit and well, albeit a teeny thing! :)

Nothing to report here, still got bad back and just feel generally huge......and tired.

MV - not long now, can't believe how fast it as gone. :A

  • morning folks.

sorry there we so many non-sleepers last night. I've had a few nights like that recently where I've just given up, got up and done my banking online at 3am!

I slept okish apart from the aches and pains down my sides.

Was worrying myself last night about lack of fetal movement, and managed to work myself up into a froth! Baby has moved a few times this morning though so mind is at rest again. Honestly the worrying never stops does it! :o
