I'm just reading up on breastfeeding, thought I'd better get out of denial that my EDD is so far away when in reality I will probably be induced in less than 3 weeks.
I couldn't feed DD for a few reasons so I am keen to try again this time. Any tips or any good websites/books I could read or any would be appreciated!

Hello - I breastfed ds1 for 9 months last time all I can suggest is perservere(sp)!!!!

I wouldve given up in the early days if I didnt have my mother breathing down my neck to keep it up (Im glad she did coz it did get easier) I was tired and in pain and he wouldnt latch for a while and I hate the feeling. I ended up coping by distracting myself at every feed with a tv programme/film that I was interested in. after a few weeks it got easier and didnt hurt anymore (still didnt like the feeling). I stopped when lo started chewing

Oh and buy some nipple shields they were like a life support to me lol

and find a position that works for you - I got told off by the midwife for my position because apparently it was not good for my back but tbh it was the most comfortable and I was fine (my backs always been f'ed so maybe thats why I didnt mind lol).

OH is in the doghouse today. He went out drinking last night and came home completely blotto. Left a trail of shoes, clothes etc on the way to the bedroom. I got up to tidy, so I didn't trip over them on my frequent nightly loo visits and came back to bed to find him comotosed and sprawled like a starfish. So I, at 39 weeks pregnant, had to go and sleep on the sofa

What if I had gone into labour last night - apart from the fact he would have been useless, I would have been mortified in front of the midwives.

Yes ladies, you may suggest suitable punishments ....

oooooo I would be so mad swift kick in the b@lls will ensure its never done again :rotfl:
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Annibee I also crave a lot of fresh tastes. I've eaten loads of satsumas, sherbet lemons etc. My new thing is robinsons lemon squash. It tastes like bitter Lemon/ cloudy lemonade and is only 70p In Asda just now. I've drunk 1/2 a bottle today already.

Oooh that's a good point. I have vinyl wall decal stickers on my wall because I rent so I couldn't paint. They're really easy to apply and they don't look naff or sticker-ish. I got these:

And you can get names as well here:

Thank you so much, they are both amazing. I love the personalised names - looks fantastic. Will show them to DH tonight when im online to him, hopefully he will like them as well. :D
    So excited. Thanks again

I'm just wondering if anyone rented a doppler? I've rented one so that my OH can hear the heartbeat and feel more included because he lives far away and we can only see each other some weekends. I'm just wondering how easy dopplers are to use and stuff.

I think a couple of ladies on here did get one but I know of at least one who sold hers on as she was freaking out at not being able to find the heartbeat.
I'm sure I read somewhere that they recommend you don't get one for this very reason.

EvansAngel had one too not sure if she still uses her.

Hi Ice! i don't think that's too bad hun. I really need to weigh myself as I can see in my face I have put on weight, but have avoided it so far:o going to go for it on Monday I think and get into a better eating regime. The only thing that might be my saving grace is that i'm still being sick so hoping that counteracts things LOL.

I am starting to get really bad heartburn at nights now :( Milk and Rennies aren't even touching it anymore, think it might be time to buy some Gaviscon!

Ah yes dopplers. I was banned from getting one by OH as he said I would be freaking out even more than I already do if I couldn't hear the heartbeat!

Regarding the baby's movements, I have noticed a lot more activity recently. Not kicks but just sensations. Looks like I just have a lazy one, like its father :)
