  • I like the IKEA cot. We didn't keep the one we had for DS so do need another one. I don't want to spend much though as we do still have a toddler bed so just need a basic cot. Also I don't see the point in spending loads when you can get one in IKEA for that price. Thank you for posting the link :) The one we had for DS had a drop side. We never used it & in the end had to bolt it together as the drop side was too unstable.

  • Morning Everyone. Hope you are all ok. Well my pram has arrived and is now safely at my dads house, I am not allowed it in my house as apparently its bad luck. Dont really believe in all that stuff but heyho I have no option, my dad and his GF are guarding it. Quite impressed by how quickly it has got here only bought it on Boxing Day.

Wow. I was one of those with light "is the baby still alive poke poke" movements.... Maybe your placenta is out of the way and not protecting you? I never experienced the rib kicking I hear about as my placenta was both times in the way.

All I can say is... video it?

I've not had any rib kicking either. All my 'kicks' (I have no idea if they are arms legs or elbows) seem to be on the right just above the belly button. Yet at every check up so far baby is supposedly head down. And the hiccups (felt lower left abdomen) imply baby is head down too. So I thought I would expect to feel feet high up..but no.

Since 32 weeks I'd say my movements feel more like baby is stretching or rolling over. I love that feeling the most. With the occassional fidget of maybe hands low down in my abdomen.

I hope Tiger is having mummy cuddles or will get them soon...

Congrats Ice on being viable :)

Congrats lizbob on team pink :)

@Keith - there's actually very little you need. I think you've covered most of it though. I got some toiletries in the Sainburys half price sale a while back (baby wash, cotton balls, lansinoh cream, sudocrem and dentinox) to be a bit MSE. All the stuff had long use by dates. So you could stock up on stuff like that next time there's a sale on.

    This is my list:
    Pushchair
    Footmuff
    Changing Bag
    Car seat
    Car seat base
    Car seat adapter
    Cotbed
    Mattress
    Bedding
    Sheets/blanket
    Mobile
Moses Basket (not essential IMO, but we hope it might make life a bit easier having it by bed instead of the huge cotbed).
Moses Sheets (going to use pillowcases to be MSE)
    Changing mat
    Muslin Squares
Disposable Nappies (just enough for first few weeks)
    Huggies Swimmers
    Reusable Nappies
    Nappy Liners
    Nappy Bin
    Nappy Net
    Nappy bag (dirty nappies)
    Reusable Wipes
    Oils and babywash for wipes
Bath Support (plan on bathing baby in big bath - again only got because we got it cheap - otherwise would have got one of those sponge supports).
Baby Carrier (not essential - but I like the idea for going to carboots/dog walking).
    Pramsuit
    Clothes
Manual Breastpump (only got cos it was cheap - otherwise would have waited)
    Breastpads
    Baby Giz born 6/2/11
  • Morning all ladies and bumps

Haven't logged on since Christmas Eve so I'll have a look back in a bit but welcome to any newbies. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

Update from me, had growth scan yesterday and babies growth has steadied a tad but he is still putting weight on. He is estimated to be 4lb 15oz at 34+4 and is extremely active! It took the sonographer ages to get a blood flow doppler reading as the little tinker kept either kicking the probe away or moving the cord! I have another growth scan in 2 weeks when I'll get a date for my induction. It's all getting a tad close and scary now, on one hand feel ready and on the other totally unprepared!
After the hospital spent a couple of hours at the Sealife Centre with DD and OH which did me in!
OH has man flu and a mouth full of ulcers which is making him miserable.

I will read back now and update later on, got a camcorder being delivered today for when the baby is born and it will not be coming to hospital with us, no matter what OH says!
