About cots, I bought mine from IKEA, the LEKSKVIK one, its a cot bed. £69. Matteress was either £35 0r £40, again from IKEA.

The HIP grant, my MW confirmed today at my appointment that if you have entered your 25th week (not are actually 25 weeks pregnant) by 01/01/11 then you will be eligible. I enter my 25th week tomorrow and my EDD is 21/4, if that helps anyone work it out. She gave me the form today.

  • Hiya will read back over this at somepoint just need advice.

had a sweep this am and was getting period cramp pains, well fast forward to now and they are getting regular (1 every 4 mins and 1 min 10-20 sec) only started monitiring accuratally about 20 mins ago but was getting these cramps since 7 pm,

i have to go on all fours as it's quite painful but i would still discribe it as period type cramps, same area.

Do you think this might be contractions or just cramps from having a sweep?

    Thanks

    Hi Tigerlee.

I have no idea as I am on my first but they sound like contractions to me. Maybe one of the others will know more.

Have absolutely no idea but it sure sounds like contractions from all that I've read. Good luck Tigerlee.

thanks everyone I'm just being a narky !!!!! today. I love some of the mothercare/m&p stuff but i need to realistic as we don't have £100s to shell out on stuff.

Wendz, I'll let you know what my MW says - sure they can alter the date by a few days!

DD's cot cost £7.99 from a charity shop and it will be used for baby tickle aswell. My mum used a drawer for my bed for the first 6 weeks and I'm ok :D

Tigerlee - I have no idea. My mum told me that if I struggle to talk during a contraction then it is a contraction. But one of my friends had a labour where she described the contractions as period pains the whole way through. So I have decided its unique to any of us. Call labour and delivery they will probably give you the best answer (or just get you to pop in for monitoring :D).
    DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

Tiger, they sound like early contractions. I would try and sleep if you can. If your waters break or they start to get really painful and lasting ages then call the labour ward.

With my DS I had period type pains from 7am til 5.30 pm then they got really strong and unbearable. Goodluck hunny, keep us posted.

  • Vroom, I have this cot from Ikea... Cost me £26 from eBay (inc the mattress that I totally reused, and will use again for this baby too!)
It's lovely and sturdy, completely everything you need in a cot... And I much prefer it to the fancy cotbed that I got for DD1 (that DD2 is now in)

Tiger, sounds like contractions to me :) Good luck!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
