Congratulations Ejecoms - hope you can come home soon :)

Re Swimming - I was wondering about this the other day - how to do you take them swimming that early (ie 7lbs) if you're still bleeding? Or are those designed for your partner or a friend to take them?

Hope everyone's ok - it's my last day in the office tomorrow and then working from home next week, I can't wait. My wrists are KILLING me though, so not sure how much work I'll actually be able to get done really. Spending all my time sitting on my birth ball at the moment in an attempt to get baby to start moving down - 36 weeks tomorrow so will be starting the eviction plan next weekend - moving up to 2 cups of RLT tomorrow.

Wow - that would be keen! I think most people would have stopped bleeding long before before feeling confident enough with handling a slippery wet baby and getting both of you dressed :)

WRT swimming though, go as soon as you feel ready, and comfortable. I think DS was about 8-10 weeks, but he did need a little wetsuit thing to keep him warm enough to make it worth going.

I have my home visit from the midwives tomorrow morning, they are coming to drop off the things they need for a home birth, so I will be all set. Pool is arriving in a couple of weeks, and I have finally sorted out some baby clothes and the moses basket (which the cat has already slept in - I am truly a bad mother :rotfl:)

Just some politics to sort out with my parents, which is easier said than done, and we'll be ready...

I think it depends on how small your baby is aswell, my friends baby is only 5lbs 12ozs at a week old.

Lily was huge though so i doubt this one is going to be a tiny one.
I might start taking Lily swimming in the new year. We were given a swimming nappy and body warmer to review and i have never used it lol.
  • I was a serial lurker and didnt post - but found you all so friendly and helpful. :A Carry on the good work.

I'm just about to read back - but just to say that Baby Jake was born on 18th December weighing 8lb 4 1/4 oz.

    Congrats Ejecoms!!

Sarahangel, was wondering how you were getting on. We're in a very similar position!! Had my 34 week growth scan last week, and baby size had platoued. Also doppler ri was a bit high which shows blood flow through to placenta is slowing down. Back in tomorro (i'll be 35+3) for another growth/doppler and they'll decide what to do. Last time, I was kept in for a week of monitoring before c section at 32 weeks.
Did they give you your ri reading? Could i be cheeky and ask you what it is? Just want to know how high mine is compared to others. No worries if you dont want to.
I'm just glad have got this far. nearly 5lb is great for 34 weeks considering a bit of growth restriction is great. I love having these scans, reassures you all is well.

Hi , not been on in ages, havent gotten round to installing t'internet at home ( i thought the tiredness from 1st trimester was supposed to vanish now Im 13+3 ?lol)Cant remember who said it but I also cried at the end of Benidorm , my OH told my mother in law who said that the was the most stupid thing she had heard "EXCUSE ME FOR BEING PREGNANT AND HAVING HORMONES !!" Im getting much better at holding my tongue with regards to her comments :j . Not sure if this is anything to do with being pregnant but OMG I cant stop itching my legs !!! They skin feels moist , no cracked bits or a rash just super itchy ? Health centre phoned me today for flu jab so pleased with that, Watched that "I am legend " the other night and was having nightmares that I wasnt immune becoz I hadnt had flu jab? :o Also cried for about an hour after it finished as I was so upset at the dog dying.Being pregnant is so odd
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

The reading was 0.61 but I don't know how that translates really. I was told yesterday he will be a bit on the small side but he is following a nice steady growth curve which is reassuring all in all. The consultant also said that I would never have a big baby anyway.
    Good luck for tomorrow x

Lablover, it was me who said about Benidorm....we can cry at what we want :-)
I was at my MIL's last weekend, She is a very opinionated lady, who doesn't know when to keep quiet.
My oh had mentioned to her about possible baby names, and she had poo poo'd the name we were both keen on (it had sentimental value to both of us as was both our grandads names) but because she didn't like her FIL, she doesn't like the name and told him so. That got me really angry, but she later retracted the comment whilst at the dinner table in front of everyone and said i could call the baby what i liked. I thanked her and said i will, seeing as its my baby and i'm carrying it. Also said that when we do decide on a name we won't be telling anyone what it is as we don't want peoples opinions. It wasn;t the only time i was blunt with her, but she really does deserve it and i doubt i'll have the guts to say anything again.
Just glad the visit is over. She also offered to come up and help when the baby is born...such a shame we don't have room to put her up ;-)

Same here, and my feet. It's normal apparently though so don't worry!

There is a caveat at the end so keep an eye on it just in case x

  • JoJo - my MIL said exactly the same about the name we have picked aswell, but my DH told her to put up and shut up becoz that was the name we had chosen and she wouldnt be changing our minds.lol. Wish I had been a fly on the wall when that convo happened.

I am feeling truely awfull. I am now worried that I have hurt myself when I fell earlier. Was going to have a bath, but we dont have any hot water (central heating is still working ok tho) Called my LL and she is away for Xmas and not back until next week, thankfully we have an electric shower so I can still have a wash. Sitting in my Pj's now and just dont feel right, im probs just feeling sorry for myself.
