  • Well still not feeling great, but slightly better - think I am actually coming down with the cold and me not feeling well is something to do with that and not my fall. My MW has said that as I am stil feeling bubs move that I probs havent done any damage, but if I am still feeling off tomorrow to go down and see her. DH thinks that I am trying to slope out of going to MIL's for new years day dinner.lol. Wish he was here to look after me though, he looks after me really well whenever I am not well. Hey ho.

MV your bump looks fantastic. I might try and upload a pic myself. U must be getting really excited now that the end is insight. I also hate bad service in restaurants but at least your hubby is cooking a meal for you tonight.

For those thinking of Ebay for nursery furniture - have a look at Argos' clearance on there, I got a M&P Harbour Cotbed for an amazing £49.99, they arranged delivery about 14 days later to my MIL, rang her first to check she was in, no waiting around...cot bed is brand new, flat pack and we've saved a good £150. I can't recommend them enough, the stock is limited to the clearance in that area but there's some bargains to be had.

I ordered this cot too, along with an entertainment unit.... Didn't hear anything for ages and then the money just appeared back in my Paypal account - was gutted - wrote an email and didn't even get a response..... Not sure if I would risk using them again, but i heard that if you get the goods, its well worth what you pay.....

Sharkey - how you feeling now??

I wanted a home birth (sorry, can't remember who else is having one, need to have a notepad with me when I read through loads of posts, so I can remember who said what!!) and my mw said it would be ok if I didn't have any problems.... But at my mw appointment last week I got my blood results back from my 28 week appointment and i'm aneamic..... Not happy that docs didn't call me in to pick up a prescription, however it wasn't my regular mw, so I bit my tongue and didn't say anything. Got another appointment on tues, when i'll have my bloods done again, so i'm hoping things have improved......

My cot mattress turned up today from Babies r Us, cot and crib down to be delivered next week - all getting scarey now......

Hope everyone had a good day.....

Hi all, long time since a proper post, but here goes!

Firstly congrats Ejecoms, hope you are ok after your scare and you get home tomorrow x

Didn't post much last week, was not feeling the best and mood not good. Broke down in tears in one point a stressed out over baby and then Christmas, plus my last few days at work. But all fell into place, had my last day at work last Thursday, got lots of vouchers and some lovely flowers. I'm still officially employed until 10th January then will sign on until can claim Maternity Allowance.

Christmas was busy with the day itself round my mums and very hyper niece and nephew, then up to the outlaws on Boxing Day. We're back up there tomorrow a will go into London for New Years Eve.....if I can stay awake:D.

This morning I had flu jab then went to Midwife. Told me off for not taking my scan result..I thought they would have one plus she still had my notes! All my first bloods and urine sample all fine as was todays. Then best bit, heard baby's heartbeat :j:j:j All seems so real now! She said at first that would be difficult as more of me than baby bump (this weeks little dig:cool:) but she found it straight away :j. Got to chase my 20 week scan if not received this time next week, plus booked in for 25 week with midwife plus GTT at 28 weeks.

Got some maternity tops in Next sale, still can't get any jeans! Won't get any baby bits until after 20 week scan but was soo tempted in Next! Roll on their mid season sale!

Sorry for long post, hope everyone else is ok, I'll be able to keep up more now that I'm a lady of leisure:D

Yay for hearing baby's heartbeat for first time! It's fab! Your MW sounds a cheeky c$w though!
I was a serial lurker and didnt post - but found you all so friendly and helpful. :A Carry on the good work.

I'm just about to read back - but just to say that Baby Jake was born on 18th December weighing 8lb 4 1/4 oz.

    Congrats!
JoJo - my MIL said exactly the same about the name we have picked aswell, but my DH told her to put up and shut up becoz that was the name we had chosen and she wouldnt be changing our minds.lol. Wish I had been a fly on the wall when that convo happened.

I am feeling truely awfull. I am now worried that I have hurt myself when I fell earlier. Was going to have a bath, but we dont have any hot water (central heating is still working ok tho) Called my LL and she is away for Xmas and not back until next week, thankfully we have an electric shower so I can still have a wash. Sitting in my Pj's now and just dont feel right, im probs just feeling sorry for myself.

Hope you're feeling better soon x

Congrats to Ejecoms on your baby boy, and to Ice for reaching viability :j

I didn't cry at Benidorm, but watched I am Legend again and had to go out of the room when the dog died as I was tearing up. Animals always make me cry, rarely humans, I must say.

Can't believe people cried in Benidorm. The only reason I would cry was to be upset that it wasted 76 minutes of my life I couldn't get back. Thought it was pish compared to the series and most disappointed. Now OBEM, cried at every birth!

Well, I've been shopping and spending (again). Must stop. I'm staying in the middle of nowhere next week so won't be able to spend a penny so that should make up for it. Today bought....cotbed mattress (£69 from Babies r us, yes the eternal half price one), Loved and Adored, changing mat, cot mobile and cot bumper, essentials cutie set for coming home in and couple of burp blankets all for bubs and used every coupon I could to get £21 off. For me a throw, rug, artwork and a pack of low rise knickers from m&s....ooo and some percy pig fizzy tails just coz they were at the check-in, ooo and a Nandos.

Congrats Ejecoms and slightlymad99, the best end to a year!

For the list (sorry I forgot who posted)....I'm nearly there! Just some muslin squares and I think that's it.

    Congrats on Team Pink Alamaya.

MV, loving the bump and the nails! People say mine is a neat bump but at a usual size 14 I think I've just lost some weight. Will post when I feel bigger!

Right, early eve kip due and battery on laptop just flashed up with 9 mins to go so check ya later. x

I think it was because i knew the actor that played Mel had died in real life, so kinda knew they were going to incorporate it into the show, just found it really sad :(

What a lovely neat bump MV!!!

Garnetlady fingers crossed that all is well. Hope you feel better soon x

Re names, we aren't telling anyone what we are choosing (once we actually make the final decision) as people are very opinionated when it comes to names and it really puts me off. I know it's up to us at the end of the day but I always end up with doubts if I hear any negativity.
