the snow is bad here just now. Im not long in after dragging poor DS through the snow after DD's nativity. Im dreading going back out later to get her. The school have given us the choice to pick up from 2:30. the snow is meant to get worse through the day.

Poor DS was getting battered in the face with the snow and hail he doesnt plan on moving form the couch.

Im starting to worry that this snow might not clear up in time and all my family and friends might not get here for Chirstmas. All of the motorways and roads up here have been affected pretty badly so I wouldnt expect them to drive in it.
We would have an awful lot of food to get through lol.


Can someone please come and take this tablet away from me?? I have scoffed 3 or 4 bits with a cup of tea already, its delicious but so sweet and sugary I feel sick. But will that stop me?...probably not lol.

I hade Pethadine with my 1st

Pros: took me from agony to bearable

Cons: Made me extremely sleepy, lasted 1 hour but can only have a shot every 3 hours so you really have to time it right

Thanks Lilian and Fairyshazza, have just done as said and rang them and she said there is a problem with that code going through so to place the order at full price then when I've received it and am happy with it to ring back and get the 20% refunded :j

First big purchase for baby done - very scary......it's coming on tuesday to work.

Huge congratulations to Kat gorgeous name. I'm not having pethidine this time either, didn't do anything for me just spaced me out and it didn't take the pain away that much. Gas & air was my best friend!!

Nic sorry yes I was talking about your appointment time, was just thinking if it had been afternoon it can be a bit of a nightmare getting parked but you should be ok at that time

It's snowing here on and off but not as bad as it was 3 weeks ago (yet!!) you always get it worse than us though. It is soooooo cold though and DH was just saying that the side roads are pretty icey.

are the roads that bad?? OH in balmedie at the moment.

My scan is actually in Huntly :j:j i thought at first id have to travel but I just need to go along the road. The woman comes through from Aberdeen to do it all in one day.


The snow has finally stopped here but 20 minutes ago I couldnt see the trees across the park it was coming in sideways. Im worried about OH getting home, hes considering getting the train and leaving his car. The snow is meant to get really bad by 3pm.

After reading up on Pethidine over the weekend I had kind of decided I would prefer not to have it either as it doesn't too nice It's good to hear from someone who had it first hand and to be honest I don't like the sound of what I'm hearing so will ask to give that a miss if at all possible.

I’m a little fed up as I would like to start thinking about a birth plan and pain relief but I can’t really make any decisions. I have to have an appointment with the anaesthetist to discuss my options because I am allergic to codeine and there is a possibility I may be allergic to another drug which is used as anaesthetic. Thing is my appointment isn’t until February when I will be coming up to 34 weeks

Until I have seen them I’m not sure what pain relief I can and can’t even consider so even though I have an idea in my head now I may not be able to use those options anyway

Little Pickle seems to have woken up now :j giving me some lovely wriggles – I just even saw my belly jump for the first time from the outside they were obviously having a bit of a lie in this morning

That's great! Much better than having to travel especially if the weather keeps up!

My Oh struggled to see the road on his way to Inverurie this morning, because of the wind it was blowing the snow across it. Mind you he was traveling through the glens so was quite high up.
Hopefully they might not be too bad nearer the coast. But we keep getting warnings that it to be mega snow from 3pm plus more high winds.


If your meaning the A90 etc im sure they are fine but a couple of weeks ago they were bad. I know my mum wont drive in any kind of snow so she wont come up . My dad doesnt like driving outside the towns as he lived in Saudi Arabia for 27 years and only moved back last year. he still feels the need to drive on the right.
