I think about you often Debs. You're in my thoughts. You've had so much dignity and if there is any justice in the world you have so much good karma coming your way and news of your impending bean won't be long in coming.
And when you do announce I know I for one will be over the moon for you. And watch your progress just as you have watched ours.
With the greatest respect, you are quite an inspiration yourself!

I have sympathies for those of you also feeling like carp during pregnancy, I have been as well. Although the baby is much longed for, it really does take it out of you this pregnancy lark.
Nausea, sickness, tiredness, aches and pains, horrible hormones... Some days I get so down, and will just sit and cry for no reason. Not so bad now I have a temporary job over Xmas to go to. I pull myself together for that. But sometimes I get overwhelmed and feel my mood go down, and it is a real struggle to get myself out of it. I get anxious and lonely, and these feelings are so alien to me. I know it's part and parcel of being pregnant, and what pregnant woman doesn't get anxious/nervous/scared etc.
For those ladies without their OH's being around, my heart goes out to you. I just don't think I could have done this without my fantastic bloke. He has cooked meals when I can't do it due to sickness or tiredness, looked after all our pets when I couldn't face it, and even though he doesn't really know what to say, he is there as a shoulder to cry on when needed.
I also sympathise with the ladies with the hard bumps and who struggle to breathe sometimes. I am carrying high, and often when I sit on the couch I get an awful tight feeling at the top of my ribs, under my boobs, which hurts. And get breathless when walking sometimes. I put it down to all our organs getting compressed.
Fanta and Ice, sorry you are feeling carpHate having colds/viruses at the best of times. Though paracetamol and honey and lemon seem good suggestions.
MV, am glad baby is OK and your MW appointment went well.
Charlie, hope everything is OK hun. Can't believe they have left you stressing over this, it's so unfair.
Lillian, thanks for sharing your birth plan. It is very interesting to see someone's and I didn't realise how specific you can be. How did you make your decisions on painkillers i.e. you said you don't want pethidine. Did you research online or discuss effects with MW?
Is anyone else having the swine flu jab, or has had it? I am booked in for Thursday on doctor's recommendation. Apparently swine flu is particularly nasty in pregnancy, and the second trimester is the ideal time to have it.0 -

I did all my research online and used the Mumsnet book which is brilliant. I printed out a few birth plan templates (Boots and Hipp) and went through all the questions with OH, then we read up on anything we didn't understand. I'm probably being a bit too overspecific and I don't imagine they'll even read it but it was really helpful to know what questions I might need to know the answers to - and more importantly, so that OH also had an idea of what might happen, I want him to be able to answer for me if I'm not coherent!
I've had the flu/swine flu jab - absolutely no side effects and I haven't had so much as a sniffle sinceApparently it can make your immune system work harder so it's ideal for us as our immune systems aren't really working at the moment. I did feel a bit less movement from peanut for a couple of days after it but that might have just been a coincidence.

Except the pasta sauce. I hate all mince meat style foods - so shepards/cottage pie is out. My dad makes portions of steak pie for me where I just add a bit of puff pastry on top. But I honestly couldn't think of any meals to make where they could go straight in the microwave. What are you guys planning on?
Sorry fussiest eater in the world here. Don't like chilli, lasagne or bolognaise
Our dinners really do consist of a piece of meat, potatoes and veg. Some people might find it boring, but it's what we like.
I do like macaroni cheese, but OH doesn't!!
Ooh I know, I will make some leek and potato soup to freeze.iceicebaby wrote: »Lillian, your birth plan looks very clear to me they can be in no doubt as to what you want. Catch you later x
My sister had chronic ear problems as a teen my Mam used to warm a few drops of olive or almond oil on a spoon (not too hot or you'll burn yourself) !!!! her head to the side and pour it in, keep head cocked for a minute or 2 then put cotton wool in to collect it coming back out and you can straighten up. It should unblock in under 5 minutes.
Let me know how you get on.
I'm so tired cause I kept waking up for no reason, and so I feel like !!!! only thing that will make me feel better is a birth, anyone over 37 weeks would be fine if one of you wouldn't mind pleaseAKA: PC
