Evening all!
Sorry I haven't had time to go through everything you chatty ladies have been on about!
Thanks for the tips and comments about nappies.
And thought you might like to see a pic of the rope on this page:
http://www.uvcutrecht.nl/pijnbestrijding-pijnbåestrijden-weeen-epiduraal-ruggenprik-ruggeprik
it seems a better idea to attach the rope to the ceiling than a person!0 -
Morning Ladies and baby bumps!
Another fun nightshift for yours truly. Sigh
On the edge, I work 14 x 12 hour nightshifts in a row and I guess I just have a few hours sleep in the afternoon before I start the first one and then just try my best when not working to sleep!! The first 2 days are the worst then your body seems to turn things around. When I finish my last shift it's straight to bed for me for about 4-5 hours then stay up as late as I can manage that evening.
Lillian - great list for things to do during ML. I will use that. Ta
MI3 - OH and I are taking delivery of a freezer to go out in our garage this weekend for me to stock up before the little one arrives as there is no way I would let OH cook!!! I would either starve or live off Actifry chips if it was up to him!!! lol
Jenapples - hope you feel better soon and are now home.
Nic - you seem to be pretty organised as far as xmas is concerned from what I can see. I would give OH an IOU for a blueray and get one in the sales. That way you don't have to buy him something else in the mean time.
I have to admit to being one of those folk who buys xmas cards, wrapping paper, and gifts for the year ahead in the january sales and the like. Hate having to pay full price if I can help it!!! I was brought up to be a canny scot and something I am proud of!!!
Digital - congrates on finding out you are going to have a son!!
Lauren - sounds like a horrid time in hospital. Do we want to know where it was so we can avoid??
Ice - When I first felt little one move it felt like buzzing internally rather than butterflies. That and I felt a kind of pushing inside, a bit like cramp and I guess that was the little one turning round.
Me, well, I have an appointment with the doctor in the morning about my achy breaky hips. Hopefully he can refer me to an osteopath or the like. Just like to be able to stop moaning!!!!
It feels like I have a bruise on the left side of my bump. Guess Little one is fond of kicking that particular spot to make sure I know he/she is still there. Not like I can forget with the amount of movement I am now getting. Not that I am complaining. I will save that for a few months time!!! lol
I would like to give birth in a local midwife led unit as it's 7 miles from me but OH is now getting nervous about it all with it being our first and is suggesting we just go to one of the two local (both about 30 miles in either direction) big hospitals but I am not so keen. I always seem to get the impression we will not get as good a care with midwives looking after so many more women than just me. I guess I will just have to see how the pregnancy progresses.
That and make a decision if I go North or South to either big hospitals. Choices choices. lol
I must try and not post war and peace at night!!!!!:jMini Coops arrived 2011:j0 -

Hugs, hope you feel better in the light of day.
ice don't pay her??
off for GTT today, great joy. Makes me realise how much I [STRIKE]eat[/STRIKE] inhale normally without realising it. Had to stop myself scooping up DD2's leftover toast and so on.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Morning!
Sorry, my link doesn't work so well (it just goes to the homepage and then you have to click on "bevallen" and then "pijnbestrijden")
In the pics of the rope we were shown in the presentation it was attached to the ceiling near the edge of the bed. One photo showed a lady hanging on whilst sitting on a birthing stool and in another the lady was standing with her partner supporting from behind.0 -
Pants. Have woke up with a stinking sore throat and a dry cough....what can I take?0

Morning all. ANother rotten nights sleep for me. It doesn't matter which side I lie on, after a while I get awful pains all down that side and have to swap over, and then the same thing happens again...grumble.
Went to my 36 week check yesterday, had to wait over an hour to be seen as they were horribly short staffed. Good news is baby is head down, right where he should be and the MW reckons he already weighs approx 6lb-7lb!
Of course that is just an estimation, but it seems quite big to me! Does that mean I will be giving birth to a giant baby??:rotfl:
Bump measurement is spot on and heartbeat all sounded good.
Sharkey and susan, don't feel bad about feeing fed up with pregnancy already. I think it's totally normal.
I had a cry to my mum yesterday as it's all getting so close and I'm feeling really overwhelmed. I feel awful because I cried so much when I had my mc in Jan, and I feel wretched for being scared, but I am.
I'm scared of the birth itself and I'm scared of the coming exhaustion, hard work and complete change of lifestyle.
I think everyone feels the same. It's a big old deal isn't it after all!
And I'm sure the ladies on here who have little one's already can testify that it's all very much worth it in the endMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
fanta paracetamol and honey and lemon. Sorry hon.
MV you are completely within your rights to be feeling this way, but you haven't loved until you have had a child, however you feel about your DH. There have been some difficult births recently, but births generally are straightforward and its just that those are the ones you tend to hear less about. It is hard work, but you'll be soo glad you did it. hugs. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Grateful that's exactly the kind of advice I needed to hear
I think you're right in that you tend to hear all the horror birth stories, and less of the nice, straightforward ones! My pregnancy so far (touch wood) has been very straightforward, and apart from the aches and pains I have been experiencing in the last 3-4 weeks, it's been fine.
So maybe my little fella will be an angel coming out too! :A I live in hope! :rotfl:
I also know that if anything were to happen to this baby, I would be completely inconsolableI remember only too well the place I was in at the beginning of this year. Who would have thought that by the end of it, things would be so different!

Fanta you can have paracetamol of course, and for your sore throat try making up some hot honey and lemon with a bit of ginger in there too. It's not as instant as having a lemsip, but it's very comforting and does help ease your throat.
Hope you feel better soon hon.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0
