well was very upset today to find out the silver cross linear freeway doesn't fit in my boot, so it's a choice between
Silver Cross surf
m+p sola
m+p urbo
The urbo fits the best in the boot put I prefer the sola and it is cheaper and OH prefers the surf. I do love the idea of a silver cross tho, I really want a carrycot so it 'looks' traditional, but as mum is paying the surf gets too dear with the carrycot............any tips???
Dusty if they have the Mamas and Papas Zoom in stock at yopur store I would suggest going back and having a look at that.
We were going to have the Sola but we didn't like the green or brown, OH said he was happy to have the Orchid but I thought it would be too girly if we have a boy so was apprehensive about getting it. We went back for another look as someone on another forum who was also going to buy the Sola had recommended the Zoom to me.
The Zoom is plain black and is more or less exactly the same as the Sola but if you want to jazz it up you can use the coloured footmuffs from the Sola/Luna range. It comes with the chasis which is slightly more compact than the Sola as it only has three wheels and folds up a bit smaller, the basic seat but it also comes with the carrycot (which is exactly the same one that the Sola uses). All the different seats etc fix on the same way as the Sola and it takes the Aton, Prima Viaggio car seats or the Maxi Cosi ones depending on if you want Isofix or not.
The best part of it is at the moment it has £100 off so you get the chasis and seat and the carrycot for £295 :j (plus any vouchers you ca lay your hands on) you can add in the Prima Viaggio car seat if you want to for an extra £95 (instead of the £135 it costs when buying it seperately).
This is the pram here http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-zoom-3-in-1-black/180625300/type-i/
I'd definitely recommend going and having a look and trying it out. I was adament I didn't want a three wheeled pram but as soon as I felt how easy it was to steer and manouvre I loved it. We ordered ours on Fridaywish we'd ordered it online though so we could've got cashback as well! *doh*
Sammy I don't know why but I have been suffering with very sore nipples too but both rather than one. I've been measured and am wearing the right size but when it gets to about 4.30pm my nipples start getting really, really sore - some days I'm almost in tears because it feels like my bra is lined with sandpaperI have found no reason for it and it absolutely kills - I've even considered getting some Laminsoh for it to try and ease it a bit.
Congratulations to all the new arrivals since I last posted
Had a productive day yesterday, listed a load of maternity clothes on Ebay (size 18 if anyone is interested) that I've brought but didn't fit me or were too long (am a shorty), had a catch up with my friend and asked if she would be my birthing partner if for any reason OH wasn't here when I go into labour, went to the cinema to see Skyline and then finished off the day with the X Factor result (never liked him anyway, he was a bit too smug for my liking).
It looks horrible out there, really wintery and coldOne day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
Thanks for the advice on prams ladies
Giz-I think the urbo is the winner so far just cos of it's easiness but it is expensive with carrycot, which I really want. OH hates it tho but he has only seen a pic, I told him when he decides to get off his @rse to come pram shopping with me he can have an opinion but I'm not letting him sway me over a picture, ive read some bad reviews bout the urbo, wheels locking? Have you had that?
Fairy-I wAs adamant I didn't want a 3 wheeler wither but was impressed with the zoom, but it was ruled out for some reason, can't remember what now?
The sola only appeals cos of the colour options, I like the green bit again OH says no from the picture  I figure his opinion is of course important but he'll only be using it at weekend, I'll be using it everyday and so need what suits me, especially as he doesn't drive so it'll be me lugging it in and out if the boot.
Think i need to revisit the zoom.
I'm currently killing time in asda cafe as I wait for my dad to have an eye op nearby, he should hopefully be out by lunchtime but it's far from home so not worth me driving all the way back
Giz - don't be put off by my amount I'd clothes, most are due to an overexcited Nanna and a clueless expectant motherI reckon most won't get used xx

Don't get it till JanuaryBut as for bad reviews the Urbo is relatively new so I couldn't find that many but I did see some bad reviews (but felt the good ones outweighed the bad ones), but likewise for the quinny buzz - there are loads of negative reviews for that, yet so many people also rave about it. The problem with reviews is people are more likely to go to the effort to post a review when things go wrong. So I always take that into account.
The way I look at it, the pushchairs at M&P come with a 12 month warranty and at the end of the day if something faulty like that happens you should be able to get a refund no matter what the product is.
You get your OH in the shop! There's no way he's entitled to an opinion until he's pushed them about!!
I know what you mean about the carrycot - I really really wanted it. But I've changed my mind now. Money comes first. Maybe if I was going to be walking everywhere then the carrycot would be used. But I've got to face facts that the most times I'll use the pushchair will be for literally popping to the shops to buy milk (I get main shop home delivered).Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Sorry don't know for sure, but on baby and bump forum there was someone with a similar issue. She said they were sending the form back to her or something but never followed up to see if it got resolved. Did they say they would send the form back?
I would chase chase chase it up!!!! HMRC were nippy about it when i was on the tri sections of bnb in 2009.Won through MSE: Iphone 3GS and 4s with Lucozade in Oct 2010

I have read that they are meant to be releasing a red and black version of the Sola at Christmas Dusty so am thinking I might purchase the footmuff from that to use with the Zoom as it would be nice to add a bit of colour but the current colour options in the Sola didn’t really appeal to us
I think what you say is definitely true – if you are the one who is going to be using the pram the most then it is important that it suits you and is the one you want but OH still needs to go and take a look. I know that my OH was happy to come and look but is a typical boy and just goes with what he likes without much thought, he knows that I will be the one using it the most and that my needs are probably greater than his – as long as it’s easy to push he will be happy :rotfl:
Definitely go back and look at the Zoom – it really is light and when I put that and the Sola together and tried them to compare it amazed me how different the handling was on them both. I’m very excited to get ours now but a little freaked out by the fact that in just four months I’ll be pushing it with our baby in it :eek:One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
Have been up most of the night with backache, which kicked off BH's every 20 mins, then 10 mins and more recently quite painful BH's followed by some normal ones then the odd painful one.
MW says its probably nothing to worry about but if i get leakage or more than 3 painful ones in 20 mins give her a ring back and go to the unit.
Not feeling very reassured at that really.0 -
lauren_1 have my fingers crossed that its just BH, although sproglets do like to make their mummies worry from as early as possible.
PS - do not watch my sisters keeper is you are feeling emotional. I dont usually cry but OMG I have been in floods.DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

((hugs)) Lauren, hope it's settled down. Not much consolation, but I was up most of night too, restless legs and toothache. My eyes just want to close.......:(
Re: Prams. Been lucky that my cousin has recently given birth so she's lending us her pram and giving us a cot bed, already got most other things from DD. Lucky really, as I had my heart set on a Bugaboo Chameleon, OH had a near corinary when he saw the price.
Not bought any clobber yet, waiting till 4d scan in January, get some idea on weight, seem to be miles bigger this time round, but DD was tiny so was in tiny baby stuff.:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0
