Question: when should I pack my hospital bag? I'm only 28 weeks, but am itching to do it already :D Borrowed a little case from my dad and want to start filling it.

I packed my bag at around 28 weeks. I just thought if I went early (some hope) I would be glad to have the stuff I needed. I also wanted to have bought all the stuff I needed before I went on Maternity pay.

My bag (well bags, one for me, one for baby and an extra one to be left in the boot with more nappies, baby grows and a snowsuit for when we are going home) have been in the car boot for about 5 weeks now. (I know I'm a bit over organised).

Thanks, that makes me feel like less of a freak! I will get the rest of my bits this week then :D and start packing next weekend!

I had 2 dogs that used to sleep in the room when DD1 was born... The little one always slept at the fitt of my bed, under the covers and I used to dream the baby had slipped down and wake up all in a panic... I ended up putting them in the kitchen though because the big one had a licking habit that bordered on OCD and he used to make snuffly gobbly noises that we're not particularly helpfull when I was trying to settle the baby after a sleep...

As for hospital bags, the last couple of times I packed it earlyish thinking that whatever happened from that point on would involve a hospital trip... Haven't thought that far ahead this time though lol...

    Exactly 6 months tomorrow...

I thought it was 5 years old. // Edited - googled car seats

Not a dog owner currently, but a dog lover. I would agree with others and start getting the dogs into a routine to go in their own room at night. I don't have a problem with dogs in the same room as a baby but I think it's probably healthier on the dogs to realise that they are below baby in the pack.

Thanks for the info about car seats, mine is 8 years old so will have to check it out.

I've already packed my hospital bag :o

All junk is out of babies room, just got to find the motivation to iron all the vests and babygro's now to put away but I've just cooked a Sunday roast and I'm now jiggered!

  • Mine is a weird situation. Me and hubby have 3 children between us from previous relationships but none together. So this is the last but a very special child that neither of us really thought would ever happen.

If i'm talking about what I would like then I would like a girl. But for hubby who has a girl from a previous relationship I would sincerely like a boy. I'd love to give him a son. But who knows. Time will tell and we'll be one big happy dysfunctional family either way :D :rotfl::rotfl:

Just like mine then, though this is second baby with DH.

Sweet cravings make me thing team pink.

Grrr - that's what I wanted to buy at the supermarket!!! I've been thinking of jelly and cream since it was mentioned yesterday!

I've only got 10 days left to blame eating all manner of unhealthy things on being pregnant. I have to make the most of it :)

Oooo never thought that about sweet cravings. I kinda had sweet cravings more with my boy than I did with my girl so put it down to that!

I too am also finishing my jelly that I made yesterday! Luckily I bought (well my ma did!) two so if I want more I can make another one! :j:j

Although i'm eating it and trying not to think about the semen like texture to it! :D (cheers whoever pointed that out lmao!) :rotfl::rotfl:

I had real sweet cravings with both daughters... This time, for the first 12 weeks I had absolutely no inclination to eat anything sweet (don't panic... The sweet tooth came back lol) Which makes me wonder if it might be a boy... I really kind of hope it is a boy... I love the name we've chosen lol...
