The greyhounds might decide that what with all the noise it's not good for them and take themselves off somewhere quieter!!!0

Congratulations MERFE! Glad it all went well.
We packed the hospital bags yesterday. Job for today was to learn how to fit the car seat but I'm just feeling exhausted so may just rest and leave it until next weekend...0 -

Ooh another greyhound loverI think the dogs will probably decide to take themselves elsewhere, but if you want them to sleep outsie the room - for your own piece of mind, would they get up if the baby cries through the night (trip hazzard?). I would start trying to move them out of the room just now - do you have somewhere else they could sleep? My 3 sleep in their own bedroom:rotfl:, they always slept in our room before, although they do still come through for cuddles in the morning:o

We were considering putting them in the nursery as a temporary measure as one keeps getting on our bed throughout the night (so I have to keep waking up to tell him to get back to his own bed) and the second one growls and barks whenever theres the slightest noise so I dont think its best for them to be in our room as they may wake the baby.:heart2:Married 03/09/2005

That sounds like a good plan, if you start doing it gradually from now, by the time baby arrives they should be settled into their new routine:) Ours sometime sneak into our room in the night, one of them can open the door:o0 -

Victoria Stilwell in her book "its me or the dog" has a section on dealing with dogs and a new baby.I think she's pretty sensible, and I also agree that moving them down the pecking order a little early on is a good plan, so its not too much of a shock to their systems.
merfe well done you. Have you some Lansinoh? It will fix your nipples!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

charlie think you're on team pink, no?
Me on team pink? I dunno lol. I'm 15 weeks, maybe 16 now. I lose track!Got my 20 week scan on Dec 20th. Hubby doesn't want to know and I do so it's gonna be interesting lol.
I'm kinda thinking team blue actually.
Mine is a weird situation. Me and hubby have 3 children between us from previous relationships but none together. So this is the last but a very special child that neither of us really thought would ever happen.
If i'm talking about what I would like then I would like a girl. But for hubby who has a girl from a previous relationship I would sincerely like a boy. I'd love to give him a son. But who knows. Time will tell and we'll be one big happy dysfunctional family either way:rotfl::rotfl:

I hope we get some baby news today! Emsy, get the Blackberry going!
I just made a roast dinner for me and OH. Pretty pleased as it's my due date today and feel good. Heading out to visit the family now and thinking about going to the cinema tonight to see Due Date (or would that be pushing it?)0 -

Congrats to the new arrivals, wishing you all speedy recoveries.
Good luck Emsy & Hibbi with you rlabours and speedy vibes your way.
To all you dog owners- I have 2 large greyhounds that currently sleep in our bedroom (in their own beds) but I'm wondering if this is good for when the baby arrives. Any ideas?
Almost have the "spare" room empty to be turned into a nursery. Just about to go and do some more sorting now.
Did I hear somewhere you shouldnt use a car seat over 10 years old?
Thanks
I thought it was 5 years old. // Edited - googled car seats
Not a dog owner currently, but a dog lover. I would agree with others and start getting the dogs into a routine to go in their own room at night. I don't have a problem with dogs in the same room as a baby but I think it's probably healthier on the dogs to realise that they are below baby in the pack.
Question: when should I pack my hospital bag? I'm only 28 weeks, but am itching to do it alreadyBorrowed a little case from my dad and want to start filling it.

Just googled about car seats, seems like most have a 6 year life from the point of manufacture. Some have 10 years. It says to look on the label for an expiration date...and if there isn't one, try to go by the date of manufacture.
