If you're induced then the baby isn't necessarily born that day - my SIL was induced and baby was born two days later.
Or if you are really lucky like I was, a week later:eek: hence the reason for not wanting to be induced this time round unless absolutely necessary!!

 Much as I would want to avoid a CS I don't think I would want to spend a whole week being induced.
LOL I think that's what got things going in the end. The consultant finally said one last time then it will be a section first thing in the morning, DD was born at 3.19am phew!:D"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. Love the bag, but I am a Radley girl!! Have a small collection so I'm maybe a bit biased!
So ok for the lady in question? For those of you who have been in labour before....what did you eat and drink?
Cereal bars/flapjacks. I like dorset cereal bars, yum.
We've been recommended lucozade (which I can't stand). Can I have apple juice? Websites say to avoid grapefruit and orange juice.
Honestly, why?
Food wise we've been suggested empty calories like boiled sweets/fruit pastilles/glucose tablets. Will I not want a bag of crisps/sandwich?! I just can't imagine not eating
Take what you normally fancy, have a bit of choice. My experience was that I didn't differ much from normal in stage 1. In stage 2 you are a bit busy to eat!!digitalphase wrote: »I like the bag, but would never spend that amount on a bag. I'd spend it on a pair of boots, like Uggs or something, though. I'm not really a 'bag' girl, or a girlie girl for that matter
I wouldn't for myself...but for a present maybe. Thanks for your help, all.

Hi all, I have been around but my emotions have been all topsy-turvy since the weekend and I didn't want to inflict them on anyone!
My cold has now gone and luckily I didn't develop a cough. I also have a raised rash around my belly button but it doesn't itch or seems to be getting any worse at the moment but I'll keep my beady eye on it!
Welcome to all the newbies.
I have been trying to follow the thread but I can't remember very much - sorry all!
Lwcus - how did you get on today?
I'm off for a bath now, SPD seems to be getting worse now I'm getting bigger - can't believe that I'll be 32 weeks on Saturday, time seems to be flying by!

I ate meat through my last two pregnancies as had a major lapse after being veggie for years, however since DD was born 4 years ago went back to being veggie and am determined to resist
was v tempted by roast chicken leg on sunday and i fear the sight of pigs in bankets may be a temptation too much for me come xmas day! oh i have no will power!
Hope everyone is keeping well and warm xx
And welcome Alfalfa
I've done loads of reading about delivering the placenta tonight and I don't know what to do now. I can see the pros and cons of both, but think the pros of natural win for me. But having read some birth stories can see why people change their mind and go for a managed delivery.
I think I'd like to go in with the aim of delivering naturally, but with the option of changing my mindOr at the least wait for the cord to stop pulsating and then have the injection.
